That's the problem from the start of all this; I can't get myself to the city. I have no transportation to the city and no money for it either, or for the standard medical run-around medication/tests/appointments trials and errors costs. My initial run-around cost me my time and money, and only put money into the doc's pockets; they did nothing whatsoever to help me. Our medical system is a complete farce, and entirely out-of-reach for many Canadians.

On the plus side, I managed to get 2 hours sleep this morning, after I took 2 acetamenophen, the only pain-killer I can tolerate, and which works.
It took the edge off, so I could finally zonk out.
Had a dish of chick peas, which helps with the swelling and the circulation. I searched my cupboards for pulse products and cooked up a bunch of them, stored in tubs in the fridge. Heart doesn't seem as weak today, but the rest of me is awful sick. Illness and relapse be cursed.

It sucks that your Health Care in Manitoba sucks!
Maybe your MP or MPP can be of assistance in getting you the help you need.

That's like going to the devil for salvation.
The MP and government are the ones who set up our systems and control them exactly as they are.

My DS is graduating and the ceremony is at least two hours
Lately I've been in sheer agony with pain and I want to be there.
Please pray that indeed I will endure.
    Many Thanks!

How kind of you to ask.
Thanks to the faithfulness of those who prayed, I was able to tough it out.Of course his area of study was last to receive their diploma, but I saw him get it.
Nothing including the pain I still had, would stop me from a once in a lifetime event.

How's everyone doing? I've had a new development that has me a little worried. About a week ago while shopping I noticed my right leg was a little wonky. Each step when I bring my right leg forward, the toes drag a bit on the ground. It's like my ankle isn't holding up the foot enough. I can walk without it dragging if I pay attention to each step and lift it higher. But if I try to walk normally, not thinking about it but just walking "naturally" then it drags. Just the tips of the toes. I happened to have an appt with my family dr on Friday so I told him. He immediately went down the hall to see if my back dr was in but he wasn't so I go back to see him (back dr) on Monday. He's been my back dr for years, did my surgeries when I was a kid. He's always told me if my legs ever start not working properly to get in to see him as fast as I can. He said because it could be something that without immediate intervention it might not be reversible. Now I'm worried. I have spinal cord issues and have always known there could come a time when I'll have issues walking or lose that ability all together. I'm trying to keep my mind busy so I don't dwell on it. It's hard not to always think the worst. Even after Monday I'm sure I still won't know anything yet. My family dr said they'll probably need to do a cat scan or MRI again so I'll have to wait for that appt, then wait for the results. Waiting is so nerve wracking!

Sorry for your difficulties, the unknown and waiting are indeed the worst.

The pain is so strong that I've had to take Gravol not to puke, and have the heating pad and fan on together. Unfortunately it has been a long painful day.

aww skippy, hugs. I have no idea how bad it must be to feel like puking. All the different pains I have don't do that to me and I thought it was bad enough. I just can't imagine what you're going through. So sorry to hear this. Hang in there!

So sorry to hear about everyone`s pain.

My muscles are still on fire from my weekend jaunt. I took the cat to Woofstock, a doggy fest (he thinks he`s a dog). 2 hours of holding him up, so he could lord it over the dogs & see everything, just about killed my shoulders. The things one does for their brats.
