Oh dear, I know how you feel, and I only went to one store! The cold weather now is killing me, the second I step outside it'd like I'm getting stabbed in the hip, knee, and ankle. I was thinking of getting some sort of leg warmer to just put over my knee, I wonder if it'd work just to keep it more warm and if it'd hurt just a little bit less when I go outside.

Hope everyone has a pain-free or at least a more comfortable (pain-wise) Monday.

What about a knee brace with a bit of fleece inside? Maybe that would work?

I don't have a knee brace. I just have one of those athletic cuffs, but a knee brace is $700 which I can't really afford right now. The cuff thingy I have right now kills me. Since my surgery, my knee cap actually rests on the left side of my knee instead of the center, and the cuff pushes it to the center while I'm walking and just makes it really hard for me to take a few steps without screaming so i dont try with it anymore.

Walked too much yesterday, and just a bit today, which turned out awful.
Oh well, hopefully it will clear up.
Here's to a pain free day for all who suffer.

Eek! Sorry, I was thinking of the contraption with velcro made of the same material as a tensor wrap (what about wrapping that around?).

I usually wear tights under pants when the weather gets really cold for me (& gloves inside mitts).

    Sheer Agony Today&Tonight.
I took public transit for the first time in months, as I was tired of waiting for my glasses. After that I had to deal with a garbage mishap out back,
    which finished off my back
Then to top it off, looks like DW will be losing her job in the near future.

Oh Skippy, I am really sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time.

I rarely post in this thread after I had a negative interaction with someone from this thread. I have been in a lot of pain lately. I have stabbing pains in my right lung for 2wks already. Doctors say there is nothing to do for it because it is from the pulmonary embolisms that I experienced 4 & 1/2yrs ago. They say it could be phantom pains. I have a pretty bad migraine too. Only thing I am allowed to take is Tylenol, not of much help. My left leg has been hurting Pretty badly ever since I put on my compression stocking this morning.

It doesn't help that my dad was in the hospital for 10days, but I couldn't see him because as I live 5hrs away. He was release from the hospital with PEs, medication, blood tests, and waiting for a specialist appointment.

Hi all. I haven't visited this thread for some time. Fall time was very busy for me, selling one house and buying another. Leg has gotten worse because of spina bifida. I have to get a leg brace now. Not thrilled about that. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm lucky I can still walk as most with spina bifida can't. My right foot is dragging sometimes now, causing a lot of tripping. Tripped the other day and it caught my toes, they bent backwards. Don't think I broke any but almost a week later they're still swollen, bruised and very sore. Guess I better go get the darn brace. Hugs to all.

Skippy, so sorry that you are suffering so much lately.

It is at this time of year especially, that I get a little down, I have always LOVED Christmas and everything that goes with it. I try to do everything the way I used to three years ago but it has only brought me more pain and so I have had to slow down and skip some things. I used to be able to clean the house, decorate the house and both trees and write cards all in one day.. but at least I get to do some of those things just at a slower pace.

I am sending positive thoughts and prayers to all who post on this thread and hoping for a realtively pain free day for all.

    Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks so much for sharing, I can certainly relate.
I'm forcing myself to do just what I can, which seems less this year.
Those that know me/you should understand.
    Prayer offered on your behalf.

DS&DIL are coming tomorrow for Christmas, but I haven't been able to do
anything because of the pain I have. It is all I can do to stand up even for
    a moment.
I would dearly love to help DW but I just can't.
Please pray for healing or the medication to work.God bless each of you!

Instead of being with everyone at the table playing a game, I'm in my usual spot-the recliner with a heating pad.
I also missed the meal at noon because I couldn't sit at the table.
    Mucking about hasn't helped ):
Soon dinner will be upon us, how I hope to sit at the table.
To make matters worse "I'll be home for Christmas" is playing in the background. I hate that song because it reminds me of loss ones

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time of it Skippy. Here's praying you get some relief so you can enjoy the holidays and your wonferful guests.

On a side note, I saw a specialist back on December 14th and they are planning an outpatient surgery on my finger (left hand, ring finger, bottom knuckle). Hopefully that will get rid of one of my sources of daily pain that I have been living with for the past decade.
