Got my two heart tests done today, the treadmill did me in. Felt really
terrible. Now just wiped out..I believe they should make you stay for awhile afterwards just to make sure all is well.
Just keep in mind that it's the dog's personality more than his/her size that makes the difference. My old neighbour had a Yorkie that was like the Tazmanian devil (& she was elderly, to put it kindly). I never had half the problems with destroyed furniture or barking with Lily dog that she had with the Yorkie or the terrier pup she got later. The 10lb puppy actually dragged her quilt through the bars of the crate & ate most of it (there was also a hefty vet bill & surgery that followed).
I'm in a tiny studio apt with a 50lb dog & 13lb cat - the cat is actually more work. As for shedding, my long hair betrays the fact I shed far more than the two of them combined. :P
Sigh...yes, I've heard that about a lot of small dogs, that they aren't so calm and gentle as labs. I've been looking into the minature labradoodle. Very expensive dogs.
No one understands how crippling the pain is, how it invades your body and takes over everything. Your thoughts, feelings and emotions are captive. That is why we say what we do, why we lash out, or why we act the way we do. The pain is indescribable, it brings you to tears and yes sometimes you wish you could die. But like the storm clouds, it will too pass. Just hold on for awhile.
Some good news. Had a great visit with my Doc yesterday. He is the most supportive person ever. Changed my medication and send out a referral to a pain specialist. He's also asking the Doc to expedite my appointment. Have a cortisone injection scheduled for mid-March. Haven't needed one in this joint for 10 years, but it's definitely time.
I agree. sounds like one awesome dr. to have.
I hope everyone here is having a good week! :)
Nothing has been right since the tests last week.
I ran out of one med. and thought I could get away without it. Unfortunately it was one of my worst decisions in a long time. Just today I am beginning to feel better.
As for the pain I've been crying, my daily doses of meds.reached, gravol taken so I don't puke. This is becoming all too common.
Told DW I'm a shadow of what she married.
Oh Skippy, I will pray for you. Please get a referral to a pain clinic. I hate to hear anyone suffering like that. I know there is a reason for all the afflictions we get and don't know why, but please, don't sit home crying.
Skippy, so sorry to hear you are suffering, praying for you. Are you on a list for a pain clinic?
On another topic, has anyone else gone through a phase of not eating? Food just does not hold any appeal for me right now, drinking Ensure instead. Family is concerned, I am not really worried though. When I have so much pain in my abdominal area, I just dont feel like eating.
Anyone else?
Hoping for relatively pain free week for all. :flowers:
I think that unfortunately, that is common. When there's pain, an appetite isn't encouraged. And a lot of medications can not sit well so there's less eating again.
