Yesterday I went back to Shoppers as I had purchased a Life Brand facial hair remover product that had a blue (I suspect mould) on top. The head cashier kept insisting that the lot number was the expiry date. I said no it was the manufacturing date and I was getting embarrassed as the cashiers in this store know me and the last thing I would do is try to return something that expired in 2015. Anyways this head cashier would not budge - refused to exchange the item. I called 1-800 Shoppers and they said they would gladly replace the item and that the lot date is not the expiry date. I am tempted to go back in the store today and tell this so called "expert" that all of the Life brand products in her store must be expired if she believes the lot date is the same as the expiry date. Frustrating to say the least.

Angela we used to purchased the Oktoberfest but stopped as Mom stopped liking them. For myself personally it was all about how we cooked them. I did not like done in a frying pan for me it had to be BBQ or done under the broiler in the over. We would poke holes in the sausage and place them on a cooking rack so all of the fat would drain off and come out like they were done on the BBQ.

It's all about preference, I don't like any of those.
The sizzlers are sausage but extremely fatty, Octoberfest sausage are not like ones you but from a butcher shop or Johnsonville or anything like those, they are creasy if that makes sense. The steakettes would be what I would recommend out of the 3 but they shrink a lot and are soy based.
Hope that helps, if they are supper cheap like under $2 them maybe consider but otherwise I wouldn't buy them. Definitely don't stockup until you've tried 1 of each is what I would suggest2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Afternoon all,
I've been in a pissy mood all day, dh started his day emptying all my pantry items and over the fridge cupboard, then brought them all downstairs to be put away....ack....I felt like going in his garage and re-arranging his stuff (lol). I had a reason for not wanting this stuff downstairs.
ANYWAYS....he decided to go on a tidying up spree which of course involves everyone as he has so much junk, yes he got rid of tons over the summer but finally decided to part with some of the other crap, which leads to piles of crap everywhere until the kids brought them out....geez
Anyways I'm not cooking, there are tons of leftovers and I'm cranky (lol).
Wishing everyone a great day & weekend2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

DH and I went shopping to stock up on groceries today-it only cost $60 after cashing in $50 worth of airmiles so I am happy with that. Supposed to be 15 degrees here tomorrow which sounds very nice. DD and I are heading down to California on Thursday for srping break( DH is working). Should be an reasonably economical trip as we have free accomodations while there and taking our own car. Will still need to buy food( which we would at home anyway and have a kitchen to cook in) and hotel on the way there and back and any sightseeing. Looking forward to spending some time with DD as she will be heading to university in the fall. I worked 1.5 days this week so more spending money in the jar. Have a good weekend all.

Yes, the Mini Sizzlers are breakfast sausages.
@Sweetsparrow -were you the SCer who posted about needing a clothes drying rack? I was in my local Cdn Tire store and noticed a red tag for $18.88 on the blue three-tier rack (in second last row of link, far right): http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/search...lothes%20dryer
Check your store to see if it may have that in-store pricing.
The last row in the link-the $12.99 rack-resembles the one I bought at Sears in late 90s for about $20 + taxes. Some of the coating has come off at the hinges but Sears does not seem to sell this rack version any longer.
A friend suggested I look for vacuum storage bags at CT as a way for Mom to save space in her luggage for her (as yet unbooked) trip. Three or four varieties at about $15-$20 per 6bags. I found them in the closet organization section, not in the laundry care aisle. Have to mention the product to Mom as I don't know if her sister has a canister vacuum should Mom want to pack the bags again for return home.
I did not see the bags of paper rolls for pennies but the bags for toonie wrappers and nickel wrappers are posted at $1.50 per bag. In wire bins near the closet organization area.
Had a quick look at patio furniture and the plastic tableware-my store has some setups.
Walmart's Havana collection-surprise, the Party like a Pineapple cushion has a Made in Canada tag on it.Last edited by Ciel; Fri, Mar 17th, 2017 at 06:10 PM.
