Crews Prepare For Up to 90mm of Rain and Possible Flooding

So how much rain are we actually expecting? When it's all said and done it could be upwards of 80 millimetres in some areas --.or in other words, the entire months’ worth of rain in about 36 hours. Environment Canada is forecasting rain steady throughout today, heavy at times. It'll likely be about 20-to-30 millimetres during the day and another 15-to-25 millimetres tonight. The rain will continue Saturday and Sunday as well. We'll also see a possibility of some light flurries on Sunday with a cooler temperature of plus 5.

Rain Warning Could Prompt Toronto to Close Don Valley Parkway

When heading out this morning, city officials are warning you may want to take public transit instead. It's not the commute to work that's the problem but when heading home, the Don Valley Parkway could be closed. City officials have a closure scheduled for 3pm as a safety precaution. It's all due high levels of rain. Today could all be a repeat of 2013 when a storm caused the Don River to overflow --- even trapping some drivers.

Another soggy day. I heard that that Lake Ontario is so full it is spilling onto land. I think I found the culprit. We can blame Lake Erie for that. I took a picture of the spillage from Lake Erie when we came home from our vacation last week...
