TGIF! Living close to school and work paid off today. Alarm didn't go off and we had 24 mins to get ready and get where we had to be. I have no idea how we did it but we did. Quick showers and I even made DS a toasted BLT for lunch. So impressed with us this morning!
I am off on Monday so will be nice to have a 3 day weekend and only a 4 day work week next week. Working my but off today to clear lots off my desk

Afternoon everyone,
I hate talking on the phone, I guess those teenage years of hours on the phone have made me hate talking on the phone. My mom & brother called last week and I didn't call them back which is nothing new to me, well the phone rang yesterday answered to get a blast of sh&t from my mom because my brother called to tell me my mom had a heart attacked and was transferred to Regina. Anyways I'm getting so tired of her outbursts to be completely honest, they are travelling and have no plans to return to their home even with the recent heart attack, just stupid in my opinion. I appreciate my brother calling to tell me or trying to get me to call him back but it's not like anyone was going to jump on a plane and fly down there to be completely honest. Not trying to be heartless, it's just that my parents rather travel then be home & close to their cardiologists. My mom made a point that I should answer the phone because 1 day I will get a call saying they died.
As many of you know I struggle daily with my own issues and live my life with honesty, integrity while my brothers & parents lie, take things, self absorbed etc that I have removed myself from these relationship over the last 10 years, we're not as close as we once were and thruthfully I'm fine with it. It just bothers me that they treat me like I'm the bad person or that I just don't care. Life is not easy and I choose to not involve myself in the drama or try darn hard not to be involved.
Anyways thanks for letting me vent, I just shake my head at things I'm expected to tolerate by my family2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Went to Foodland on my lunch to take a look around. Some decent deals in flyer and I have $70 in Airmiles and just under $90 on a gift card. Bought 3 x 1.88 blueberries, 3 x 1.66 Smart food (kids love it) and 1 package of Leadbetter burgers for when I want a quick dinner. used $20 in Airmiles and paid the diff. with gift card. Basically free food from the bonus airmiles I received when I did the pickle deal.

I didn't have any daycare kids today, so I took the kids to see a grandma in town. I gave her a ride to the nearby CO-OP and then did my grocery shopping with our 3 children and two shopping carts. I think I made out ok. I spent $105.xx oop, earned a $10gc from my local ECS card, $9 in coupons, $3.50 in rebate apps, free healthy noodles for spending $109, the kids each got a free cookie, and some free little toys.
Tuesday: chili and rice
Wednesday: Fin 'n Hattie with baking powder biscuits
Thursday: bacon, tomato, and cheese sandwiches with cucumber slices
Tonight we had fish sticks, French fries, and cucumber salad for supper.Last edited by Angela273; Fri, May 26th, 2017 at 11:24 PM.

It has been a long week, honestly I cannot remember the last time I posted.
The co worker I was covering came back on Tuesday, but was restricted on her duties so I worked with her for the day and made sure she did not leave the production office. I also worked with her Wednesday until she get a full release from her Doctor to be back which she got.
The rest of the week has been spent trying to catch up on being me and preparing for some Price Changes.
Not much has been done around the house so hoping to get caught up this weekend. Mom is home so I am hoping she will help me go through some of the stuff I cannot decide on.
Mom has been asking all week if I wanted to do something this weekend so I will wait for her to get and see if she had a plan for today. I think she wants to go out and do something but she hasn't given me an idea what she would like to do. We don't really need any groceries until later in the week and then it will only be fresh stuff so I do not think it is that she wants to grocery shop.
Think I will get some work done before Mom gets up. Hope everyone has a wonderful day2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good morning, Happy Caturday!
Finished master shopping list for the week - don't need much other than veg and a few essentials - but may pick up some meat even though there's lots in the freezer.
Hope everyone has a lovely day - it's going to be a warm, sunny weekend here.

@SassyAshley -if you can stand to be on the road again today, maybe a road trip across the border to see what's happening in US for Memorial Day weekend or some closer urban area? 30% POP of rain though for GTHA this afternoon. Niagara Falls has rain this morning. I've had a watery sky all morning but put the laundry out in hopes of some drying (Ms. Sunshine, you've absconded!).
Glad I started the grasscutting yesterday-got a fine rain for short period of time. The guys finished up the larger areas later. I even did some laundry and put it outside for awhile. Today is supposed to be all about the sun shining...
The Beer Store is doing its bottle/can drive for Leukemia at all locations today. One of the Toronto councillors posted on Twitter yesterday that the CN Tower was going to be lit red and white in support of Leukemia and Lymphoma.
Lowes sent an e-mail about its extended no-tax weekend on certain categories including nursery. Think I better get that lavender plant and set it into a spot before the rain (the small $2.98 one, not the bigger $9.99 plant).
If my local Shoppers has the Pepsi Throwback case of pop (it's been 4 years since I was able to buy that product locally), I'll gladly pay $4.49 for a case and skip the $1.99 6pk Coke/Pepsi 1 day deal. I'd savour the Throwback with a glass of ice and enjoy that real sugar rush. But I'll ration my intake to make the case last the week.
I used my VH butter chicken sauce today with calrose rice (1.5cup of rice, 1.75 cup of water and the contents of the 160ml sauce package)-great flavour but the sauce does cause rice sticking to the bottom of the pot so after boiling, the liquid had to be stirred frequently. Really love that spice blend!Last edited by Ciel; Sat, May 27th, 2017 at 09:00 AM.

Decided instead of doing some work since I cannot do the upload well we are open I would clean up our budgets instead.
I have 1 budget for the house and 1 budget for myself.
I decided last year when Mom was only working Part Time I was only willing to put so much of my money towards household items, there was money there to cover all of the bills but we would not longer dip into my savings for the extras, if we didn't have the money we had to go without until we had the money.
I have to say I knew May was a little hard on the budget. I knew we had all of the money we needed there and set aside but I was really worried we had almost maxed out the budget. Turns out we actually did better than I thought and did not spend as much as I thought we did. We did spend more then I would have liked but since we were trying to clean up the house we really stopped stocking up on things but once we cleaned the stockpile room up we started to fill in the gaps. Everything we bought was on sale and we had the money set aside but still there were a few shocks when they gave us our total a few times.
Now it is time to start budgeting for some of the smaller renos that need to be done around our house. Right now we need to look into the following:
A new faucet for the Kitchen Sink (the base of ours cracked and doesn't support the faucet properly)
Sealing or Ripping out the Kitchen Floor (Mom wants to rip out the kitchen floor and put down laminate but my main concern is the previous owner attached the tiles directly to the sub floor so we will have to rip out the sub floor and replace. Instead I suggested seeing if they could grind down the tiles we have and seal them which is what should have been done when they were installed)
New Shower enclosure (we had Bath Fitter do the Bathroom in our old house and we want the same done in this house as our bathroom is horrible and the faucets needs to be replaced but we will need to rip out the wall to do so we might as well use Bath Fitter vs the plumber who wants to do a patch job)
Now it is time to get quotes at this point based on the budget we will probably only be able to do the bathroom or kitchen floor but not both. We will only do renovations as we have the money which I have already discussed with Mom.
We will have to see how much we can sell, Mom announced this week she wants to get rid of a large portion of her craft supplies so I am hopeful we can sell a large portion of it and that money will be set aside for Renos as well.
Better work on some stuff around the house until our branches close and I can run the upload.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Did a yard sale this morning. Made close to $120! Felt good to get rid of some junk! I have kept a few items I know will sell online, depending on my timing of posting (e.g. Halloween costume). Glad I did the sale, I just needed a break from the "Kijijiots" of the world. Now I have a few items ready to put away and sell when I feel up to dealing with them again. We will donate the rest to second hand.
Since a lot was my kids' stuff, most of the money will be theirs for summer spending. We bought season's passes to African Lion Safari this year with Christmas money and told the girls if we purge their toys they could have money to buy one new toy from the Safari toy store. They love Beanie Boos and already have their choices picked out. While I did all the work, I am glad they are experiencing some delayed gratification and some responsibility in paying for their own items. It helps teach them value in a society of instantaneous gratification.Last edited by Granger; Sat, May 27th, 2017 at 01:55 PM.

I took our son to the police bike rodeo this morning. We got our helmets properly fitted, they checked out his bike, learned some hand signals, practiced an obstacle course, received a couple small freebies and had some free BBQ.
The sky opened up and it rained hard, so the second part of our day was delayed. We eventually attended our local museum's grand reopening after some renovations and small addition. They had a chili cook-off, panning for gold, rope making, butter making, schoolhouse reenactment, coffee and cookies, and a horse drawn wagon ride. The kids had fun and got a little wet/dirty.Last edited by Angela273; Sat, May 27th, 2017 at 06:12 PM.
