Heat Wave in GTA

The mercury is set to top 34 degrees this afternoon -- good enough to trigger a heat warning. We’re also likely to set a temperature record for this day. The hottest June 12th on record was back in 2007 when we topped 32.4 degrees. When you factor in the humidity today, it’s going to feel closer to 41.

Toronto Zoo Could Reopen This Week

The Toronto zoo could reopen later this week. It’s been closed for the better part of a month thanks to a strike by unionized workers who just yesterday ratified a new four-year collective agreement. The more than 400 CUPE members had cited job security concerns. If it gets the green light, the doors could re-open by Thursday.

Penguins Win Stanley Cup

The Pittsburgh Penguins are Stanley Cup champs for the second straight year. The Penns were 2-0 winners in Nashville last night winning the best of seven series 4-2. Much of the spotlight on Sidney Crosby who won his second straight Conn Smythe trophy as playoff MVP, scoring 8 goals and 27 points in 24 games.

Adam West, Straight-Faced Star of TV's 'Batman,' Dies at 88

Adam West, the ardent actor who managed to keep his tongue in cheek while wearing the iconic cowl of the Caped Crusader on the classic 1960s series Batman, has died. He was 88.
West, who was at the pinnacle of pop culture after Batman debuted in January 1966, only to see his career fall victim to typecasting after the ABC show flamed out, died Friday night in Los Angeles after a short battle with leukemia, a family spokesperson said.
West died peacefully surrounded by his family and is survived by his wife Marcelle, six children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Good morning . Now that was great weekend. Got a littleburnt boating and working in the back yard. The CAL Rush show at Massey Hallwas great on Saturday, and downtown was busy even at 1:30 am.
Rocky a guess Lake Simcoe was like a bath compared to Erie. Itwas 67 and felt great to cool down the heat

When I was in Maniwaki Quebec this was the best radio station I have ever heard in my life. It is every kind of music you can imagine. there are no commercials and no DJ on the weekend. The down side is the one male DJ rambles for 10 to 15 minutes. Please listen to it anyways. You guys will love it. It is 103.9 CKWE Maniwaki Quebec.
