Frugal but Healthy Schoolbag Lunches- Please share!

I paid for the milk program for a 2 month period when kids were young. I found it a waste because I can send milk cheaper (I use the Rubbermaid litterless juice box for drinks) If they are sick/away you don't get a refund and sometimes he just wouldn't get it.

Our school's milk program is a punch card system, so it only gets punched when he gets milk. If he's not there or doesn't want milk that day, then it doesn't get punched.

Yes I understand that. Ours wasn't like that. Plus I like to know that I kept my kids milk cold and not worry how long it has been on a cart to be handed out etc. So much cheaper to send your own.

Victoria (10 yrs old), packed herself: a mustard and ham sandwich, carrots with dilly dip, granola bar, yogurt tube, mandarin orange, and a small pkg of Welch's gummies.

I have to admit, with DD away at uni, I am enjoying not ensuring lunch items she will eat are on hand and packing lunches this year!

I do not know why, but all microwaves were removed from the schools this summer.

banana oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip cookie (he requested the cranberries)

dried cranberries with a few chocolate chips in a container

This Thursday is the start of pizza days! I paid in full for October and November. The money is a fundraiser for DS's end of school trip. (and I like having a day to just pack snacks )

Well started to make DS's lunch and noticed the bacon I had cooked and ready for his sandwich was gone (Damn hungry teen in the middle of the night!!)

Today for DS:

Toasted bacon, cheese and lettuce sandwich was the main event today. A bit of this and that filled the bag. It's Friday and the fridge is empty as we are going away lol Will stock up on Tuesday with strawberries/grapes etc!
