when people have full-on conversations in threads not meant for conversing, especially when they go completely off-topic. Take it to private message, or even your own message page, ffs. I hate sorting through a dozen posts that have nothing to do with anything just so I can find the posts that interest me.

I tell you, I have a whole list of gripes!

Any discounts or specials on online psycho-therapy and related services, like a 'DIY' lobotomy?

People who give their opinions on subjects that they have ZERO knowledge or experience with. And yeah, it's a dumb opinion, as to be expected.

The explanation some of them give on top of it all really kills me ...

"In a democracy all opinions count because we have the same right of expression!"

No matter how much educational or real information the person has? It's like every thought counts, no matter how asinine?

Please, give me a brake ... lol

That teeny tiny person who has never struggled with weight in their life. Going on about how overweight people just need to use more self control. ....It may be true, but you don't get to say it.

And while it may be true in many cases, it's not universal either. I know people who have body size issues based on genetics, and others based on medical conditions.

For others it may be a case of lifestyle other than self-imposed (ie: environmental conditions, financial barriers, etc)... and coupled with the any of the above reasons.

It's certainly not a one-solution for all cases... and yes, ultimately, not for anyone not in that situation to say or judge.

(says a guy a who struggles with weight issues himself)

OMG! This is a topic I can wholeheartedly relate to. I have been overweight since I was 2 years old. I went on a self-imposed diet at 7 years old which landed me in the hospital for 2 weeks.

Weight and too much of it had always been a struggle with me, with even my dad buying me exercise equipment to lose weight.

And then, this doctor told me, that it’s not really a weight issue, it’s my huge bone structure that is making me look more inflated and no matter how much weight I lose, it will never be enough.

That's sad JadeAngel. A child should be free and happy, and never worry about appearance.

bhlombardy- Yes, it's not the same for everyone. This whole comment came from a discussion on if our societal health norms came from our societal beauty norms. Ie one is only healthy if they are the perfect size seven, or if they can still be perfectly healthy at a size 2 or 14.
For the record I say we can be healthy at something different than North America thinks.

When you fall asleep whilst eating a chocolate bar. And then wake up covered in said melted bar looking like you had a major bowel blowout.

I think you're eating chocolate bars wrong, that waking up with a melted one results in that particular visual image. Either that or you've got some extremely violent bowels.

...when find an awesome flight deal to a warm place
...when you book online, pay and get a message to call their customer service line
... when the CS guy says the price went up so you can't book at the cheaper fare

    but
looked online and the cheaper fare was still there
    success!
got the cheap price, printed the confirmation (proof) and will be off to nice warm weather

so glad I didn't listen to the CS guy and trusted my instincts

That sounds borderline illegal, shady, or otherwise underhanded. I wonder if the agent gets a commission for selling certain price points.

Glad you got the price you wanted though.... enjoy your trip!
