    Well, I got told today that I shouldn't be price matching during the holiday season, as it takes up too much of the cashier's time! Humph!

    wow, they were bold
    what they don't realize is that if customers are not treated nicely when they shop, they have options on where the spend their money
    if customers spend elsewhere, there may be less hours for the cashier

    Told by whom? If it was another customer, he or she was just being self-centered, so there's no reason you should care. If it was store staff, you should have asked for or found a manager and reported it.

    Yup and yup. I'm assuming that it was another customer. I would have turned around and told them where to go. It's my time with the cashier, I will do with my time as I please.

    If it were a customer telling me that, I would have said "Wow, you're just full of the Christmas spirit now aren't you. Happy Holidays" with a big smile.

    If it were a cashier or staff member, I would have requested a manager and ask them whether they want customers spending money in their store, at another store, at a competitor, or online.

    Ive had a cashier at walmart tell me when i did a few transactions that they don’t do this here takes up too much time. Honestly blew my mind lets say those 4 transactions had 4 different people buying it ,would it then be ok? Very confusing to me and rude when they are stating that to every co worker walking by also. Needless to say i did complain not like it did anything but has made me re think doing my multiple transactions at walmart since “they dont do that there” lol what nonsense

    I would be very offended if I was told that by anyone. First of all, if they don't want me price matching then have the store post that policy, and if they want fast, go to another cashier or the express lane. Also if it's the holidays, stores should expect high volume and have all staff on board.
    It's very offensive when someone tells you what you should or should not do without asking you the reasons of why you do it. However, to be polite, I would recommend "thank you. I will take that into consideration. For now, this is what I do to make ends meet and afford things for the holidays".

    I think a little email to the company is in order. The cashier is there to work the till no mater who comes thru it!
