Nancy, if you want to put money aside for your kids, one way to do that is to open an RESP, which they can use for post-secondary education. The government adds a certain % of your annual contribution to the RESP, up to a max amount. If you have more than one child, the same RESP account can be used for all of them. If one of the kids doesn't pursue a post-secondary education, the amount can be used for the other kids. If non of the kids goes to post-secondary, you get your contribution back, but not the government top up.

No doubt, RESP is the best program if you are planning to save money for your children.
