Trudeau telephones Trump to talk tariffs and trade

It doesn't appear U.S. President Donald Trump is backing down on his plan to bring in tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called President Donald Trump on Monday night about the ongoing NAFTA talks as well as the U.S.’s proposed trade tariffs, and a spokesperson says Trudeau told him talk about new tariffs aren't helping NAFTA negotiations. Apparently, Trump is thinking about exempting Canada but only if the trade agreement is revised to his liking. U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan and other Republicans worry that these kinds of new tariffs would spark a trade war.

I have the dreaded jury duty starting on Wednesday and I honestly am not looking forward to it. Since retiring I've become used to pleasing myself and doing things (or not) when and if I felt like it.
I've never had to do it before; so I suppose I've done well
Planning on using TTC and hoping I don't get picked to fulfill my civic duty

I was called in for jury duty several years ago. The waiting and the silence was just killing me. Finally after countless hours of twiddling my thumbs, I went into the courtroom and managed to get out of it. I don't think I could have handled sitting through the actual case of embezzlement, looking at statements and crap like that. Oh, this case would have been 4-6 weeks long!

Even though I didn't make it to the actual court case, I consider that I did my civic duty and I will thank the justice system never to contact me for this again.

I would have liked to say "Lock them up and throw away the key", but I didn't want to get into trouble.

Instead, I told the judge that I worked for a small company, and I am a person where the company would not be able to do without for 4-6 weeks. So they let me go.
