Most towns pick up kitchen waste (compost) on a weekly basis

Much depends on your living situation-do you own your own place and how much space is available outdoors for a composter, garden? Also are neighbouring houses right next to yours or is there enough space between houses to offset any odour issues? One person's pleasure is another person's nuisance...

Rentals or higher-density living situations are constricted by landlord rules/municipal or regional authority or provincial rules and any in-place bins or areas provided for recycling or organic waste.

I know there is at least one cafe shop owner in Hamilton that makes a point to use eco-options and reduced packaging to cut down her own cafe's waste amounts. But that is very hard to do unless you are on your own or have other occupants thinking the same way as you and are willing to do the work to share cleanup/recycling/cutdown packaging use. If you have to do it all for more than one person, you are adding more work to your life.

Some Ontario urban resources to read: https://www.toronto.ca/services-paym...green-toronto/

You may need to check with your local municipality or region to see what the rules are on community recycling and organic waste collection. They do VARY from place to place.
