Work, work, work, work. I have a deadline that has me chained to the computer for about 10 hours a day. Extra grateful to have this BB to turn to when I feel like throwing papers against the wall. I can come here and browse and refresh my attitude. Thanks gals and guys.

Good Morning! A sunny start here today which is nice.
DS has an out of town hockey game tonight so I will work thru my lunch today so we aren't rushed. He also has a 3 day tournament this weekend that starts Friday so a 3 day work and school week for us. So will need to keep up on the kitchen and laundry tomorrow and Thursday.
Caught up with my bestie this weekend. We went out for dinner Friday night and breakfast yesterday. Much needed girl chat! We discussed planning a girls trip South! We will plan it then invite our other friends and see who wants to go.
I will take out something from the freezer tonight to put in the crockpot tomorrow morning. We have so much chicken so probably chicken of some sort. Oooh I forgot I have cooked taco meat in the freezer so that will be the back up plan for tomorrow night and if not needed then Thursday night since I have everything else needed for tacos and the boys love them. Then I can get going on laundry
Have a fantastic day everyone!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Tue, Feb 19th, 2019 at 10:09 AM.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers and words. I will admit to being volcanic on and off this weekend but yesterday I had no more energy to insist that Dad get moved to a hospital. I did finish compiling to the best of my knowledge and with the access to documents I know of the inventory of his accounts (there's a TFSA I did not know about nor did Mom) and assets and set up three file folders for monthly statements/bills, 2018 tax returns, and policies and other household related documents. Also made sure she knew where the wallet, ID and some other key items were placed in case she needs access to them.Floated some ideas to Mom about getting funeral arrangements started this week prior to actual need, as she'll have to make decisions right away and she's heard me to launder anything she might want to consider for Dad's casket apparel, so she started last night. She was not keen on the shirt I had in mind but at least we had that discussion. I have noticed I cannot talk to her when she has one of three or four favourite TV shows on--guess it's her mental escape from her caregiving duties. When Mom was looking through the inventory booklet and heard me yammer on about estate taxes being due 90 days after becoming estate trustee, she asked me what those taxes were. Last night, I started going through our somewhat limited photo collections and pulled out various photos (ideally I want a digital photo frame but backup plan is using corkboards and photo corners-still have to get either element) that will be at the visitation. What struck me most is how filled out my Dad's and late uncles' faces (and hair) looked after a few years of living in North America, compared to photos of their new start in Canada.
Biggest financial issue is that two insurance policies will auto-renew next month and Dad has not signed to cancelled them. Unless he's agreeable after a meal, the only option Mom has right now is to take the provider off the auto-debit list on the account. She does not have financial power of attorney and right now that is a hindrance. She also has told me to clear any correspondence with her regarding notifying any organizations where Dad is a member. I sent one note prior to an AGM because there were about three things members were expected to participate in. So Mom knows we'll have to discuss mail within 48h of it arriving-I'm opening any mail of Dad's when it comes in.
I had words with sibling on Sunday about bills and why I'm insisting that he do the banking/tax payments STAT. Not sure how effective I was--I even jotted a Tues to do list on top of his personal papers so he'd know I have expectations today.
Since I'm going to the casino tomorrow (saw the Fallsview ad on CHCH this morning, so feel a little excited!), Mom saw my little grocery list and gave me money to get some things for her and Dad tomorrow. Boost is fortunately on sale $8.99 until Feb. 27 and I chose the variety pack over the wild berry Glucerna. Dad mosts drinks liquids through a straw and the bendy straws sink in water bottles. We don't have a small or mid-size plastic glass, just a tall acrylic one. Issue is that small glasses are left on his bedside table and sometimes I hear him jar or move a glass. Ironically, I must have tossed out three packages of straws from the workshop and mini-barn during my cleaning sprees late summer and fall but I managed to keep one package in the pantry. Sibling and I used to have 1 foot long loopy hard plastic straws, now long gone but they would have helped out now. Not going to buy metal straws and I have no idea where one silicone straw might be found. I'm tempted to get a sippy cup for the convenient size and lightness of the cup. We do still have a child size ceramic mug from our youth around and it's been in use on occasion.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Yesterday there was a fire on my floor in my building. It stinks of smoke all in the hallway and started to creep into my room in the early morning hours. I opened the window down the hall of the hallway and put a towel at the bottom of my door. It smells pretty less charcoal like then it did before.
It’s snowing outside ah how boring. I tried texting my mom to see what the plans were for today. But there is no response. I guess I will just get dressed and ready for the day.
I don’t feel so well today I wonder if I am ovulating I’m in lots of pain on my side, where this cyst was seen on the CT scan. I know it’s a full moon soon as well my cycle for the last several years has followed that. I had a few good days to be honest and I was feeling better. Today another blip on the radar. I am not perky today or feeling like I need to be in a good mood actually feel like a bad mood. Maybe it’s the pain or maybe it’s something else.
Anyways gotta run laters

Dh shovelled paths across our back yard. I brought bins of clothes back and forth from the shed. I was able to pull out shirts and socks for twin girl to wear now. That bin is pretty empty, so now I know what I need to buy her in the next size. She’s growing out of some pants, etc. I sorted one bin of clothes for twin boy to grow into. After sorting the bags from my neighbour yesterday it became obvious that he had way too much in that size. I have a 69L bin to keep and a garbage bag full to sell. I need to go through twin boy’s dresser of clothes and the extras in the bin for his current size. He’s outgrowing some pants too. I’ll be able to put more stuff to the garage sale. Ds said last night that he’s outgrowing his pj’s and I’ve noticed some of his favourite pants are getting short on him. All of my kids are slim, so sometimes pants are hard to buy for them. Now I know what to put on the list. I also washed, folded, and put away two loads of laundry. I can wash a load of towels tomorrow. I took advantage of the day without daycare kids.
Ds is signed up for a free library program tomorrow. Dh will drop him off at 9am. I’ll come back with our twins and a daycare Gil to pick him up at 3pm. We just need to send him with his lunch. The program is for children 6-8yrs old. They’ll do some activities, crafts, tour the library, make their own snacks, and watch a show. He’s looking forward to it. One day to break up his 9 day break.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

@Ciel so sorry you are facing your dads end of life. A few things from my recent experience, you may not need the digital frame because the funeral home will do the picture display on the screens. If you really do need one let me know. I have one we don’t use and it’s not that far to Hamilton, I will bring you mine. But you will save yourself if you have the photos on a stick ready to go, that took my brother and I hours to pull together. The funeral home should also give you a list of all things that need to be done and some they may do for you. They took dads health cards to send to the ministry and maybe his DL too. They submitted the paperwork for death benefits. Just having the list of documents needed and things to do was so helpful because it kept us moving forward.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Morning! Happy Hump day!
Well our boys had a fantastic game last night. They won. 15-1!! Great boost for them going into a 3 day tournament this weekend.
I have a whole chicken and potatoes in a baking dish in the fridge ready for DS to put in oven when he gets home from school. I will make green beans to go with it and gravy since we have lots of chicken gravy and DS likes gravy.
Tonight I will start laundry as soon as I walk in the door. Kitchen is clean and dinner dishes will go in the dishwasher.
Don't forget to save your PC PT offers. I have a few to save that I won't use today.
