I'd like to title this video " You might think it's O.K. " by Democrat Adam Schiff
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/28/hous...to-resign.html
His response came about today when 9 members of the GOP signed a letter demanding he resign as head of the House Intelligence Committee. What a farce the GOP are!! Devon Nunes ( Trumps personal rat! ) sits there with a straight face during all of this......
Go get 'em Adam!

G'day g'day!
Read about the elections in UKR ... what a a giggle! May have a joker/comedian as next leader!!!
https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/30/opini...kiw/index.html
"Ukrainian voters will be greeted with a mesmerizing docket in the voting booth: a dermatologist, a trained spy, a former tax chief on trial over corruption, a self-proclaimed Cossack military commander of Ukraine, an anchorwoman, a comedian and a few filthy rich oligarchs. To round out the ballot is Illia Kyva, criminally convicted of bribery (but later granted amnesty) and who has a penchant for homophobic posts on Facebook and posting his naked muscular torso on "
"But, more importantly, Sunday might be seen by voters as a chance to install someone new who can deliver on the promise of the 2013/2014 Euromaidan revolution to eradicate corruption from daily life. So endemic is corruption that Transparency International has ranked Ukraine almost on par with Mali and Liberia -- at 120 among 180 countries rated for perceived levels of public-sector corruption."

Given the upset over coming education cuts in Ontario, there are different school boards and entities talking about what a possible cut of up to 3400 teaching positions over 4 years will do here:
https://www.thespec.com/news-story/9...minister-says/
https://www.thespec.com/news-story/9...on-new-bosses/
Did see a headline this morning on Breakfast Television (Toronto) that BC is open to ON teachers. Found the same item on Global News:
https://globalnews.ca/news/5143636/o...rs-welcome-bc/
Just spotted a similar article about Nova Scotia wanting ON teachers too:

Another issue is that of local health integration centres (LHINs) not conveying accurate information to family members desperately seeking support services to care for ill family members. To get people out of hospital beds, lots of things are said to family members to hustle their relatives out.

Fire at Notre Dame de Paris cathedral
A major fire has engulfed much of one of France's most famous landmarks - the medieval Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. Its spire has collapsed.
The cause is not yet clear, but officials say that it could be linked to renovation work.
A major operation to tackle the blaze is under way at the 850-year-old Gothic building.
Last year, the Catholic Church in France appealed for funds to save the building, which was crumbling.
A spokesman for the Paris fire department said the next hour and a half was "crucial" in order to determine whether the fire could be contained.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I expect that Ontario library users will see some reduction in service hours and the elimination of any free prints per day along with other programs, after the Ontario government cut 50% off its funding towards library services (municipalities fund the other half of library services). Expect longer waits for library materials.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/winds...ford-1.5102406
Meanwhile, the new fiscal year started on April 1. That must explain why my library system just changed some holds and renewal policies at the start of the month.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

RIP Jean Vanier, humanitarian and philosopher, passed away.
He is best known for founding L'Arche, an International Federation dedicated to the creation and growth of homes, programs, and support networks with people who have intellectual disabilities.
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-jean-vaniers-global-life-of-service-was-always-grounded-in-the-mind/
He was a most amazing man. CBC radio's Ideas reran a two-part series the last two days about his life and work.

I wish everyone would at least listen to the first half hour of part two - it was very humbling and he explains his simple beliefs.

Ad in today's Toronto Star mentions that Apple Maps is doing its own mapmaking and the cars will be marked. Did everyone see the same ad in their major city daily papers?
When I chose Canada as the country, I got this list:
https://mwp14.ls.apple.com/imagecollection/locations.ca
Actually, since I don't own a smartphone or cellphone, I'll ask what Apple devices use for its map feature if the Canadian maps don't already exist in some app?2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
