Ont. now. Carrot Rewards App for free SCENE/aeroplan (or other) points

My step count has gone up to an unreasonable amount and I rarely meet my step goals now. I am definitely not paying to get more rewards, that kind of kills "free". I can just buy the gift card if I want it.

@olivercat I totally agree, not to mention they keep increasing my target so there is no point in paying because I am lucky if I get more than three days a week and never in a row so the reward is meh

I had the same issue. I unlinked it from my Samsung health program for 8 days, (no points), then hooked up again and my target dropped to 1600 steps. It is still going up about 200 steps a week, but when it gets too high, I will disconnect for 8 days again.

has anyone read the new carrots offer? pay a fee to get 2X or up to 10X your points... I do not like it when free programs want to sell you an 'offer' to earn more free rewards. If your paying for it --it is not free.
smartcanuckers...please share your opinions on this offer.

We are hoping to find new ways to fund and restart your daily steps rewards. In the meantime, you will continue to earn points for all the other good things that Carrot does for you every day (including your Step Together Challenges). No more points for me....

Planning to delete too, along with my family friend (and her kids that have it too), my step-mom, and my dad. Their website said that they had something like 700,000 people that use the app. We'll see what it is at after this change, I'm thinking it will at least drop by half that

Seems like they are trying to make people pay to keep the Daily Step Goal.

well it was fun while it last. Would tell something was wrong when the daily goals started to increase way too much - went from 10500 to 12000. then comes carrot plus, now no more daily points.

Carrot Rewards App has gone bankrupt and owes money to points providers.

But two years after, Carrot received at least $7.5-million in funding from the federal and B.C. governments, only B.C. and Newfoundland and Labrador had adopted the app. Ontario launched a test pilot, but later pulled its funding.
As the promise of national reach crumbled, investors closed their vaults, CEO Andreas Souvaliotis said in an interview Monday. Carrot planned to notify users of its shutdown over e-mail late Wednesday. The company is filing for bankruptcy to pay off suppliers, such as Cineplex’s Scene program, to which it owes money for points, Mr. Souvaliotis said.
When it launched, Carrot attracted investment from private venture capital firms including Relay Ventures and Lumira Ventures, but they declined to contribute more, Mr. Souvaliotis said. The firms did not respond to requests for comment.
