I hope all are enjoying the Saturday wherever you are!
Tonight is a nice thick striploin steak with a pearl barley salad on the side. In the salad will be BBQ grilled carrots and zucchini and fresh cherry toms from the garden. Paired with a nice Australian Chardonnay (not a red wine person personally - only on occasion).Last edited by GoodBoy; Sat, Aug 3rd, 2019 at 05:23 PM.

@cabmonk your meal looks very appetizing!! Mmmmm.
I am planning the menu for tomorrow's BBQ here.
Over the white coals will be T-bone steaks, veal chops, burgers, Mild Italian Hoagies, then on the propane grill I'll do the veggies/fruit....the usual suspects, bell peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, pineapple chunks.
I cut up a cantaloupe, honeydew and a seedless watermelon about an hour ago into chunks and have them all mingling in the fridge in a large container for easy grabbing....very happy that and ALL 3 melons were so sweet, ripe and bright in colour.
( melon can be a crap shoot but I will not serve them if they are flavourless or unripe. )
The sides include a Caesar salad, whatever is remaining of that 7 layer nacho dip? ( a large bowl I made...see pic ) and a few extra raw veg for anyone on a diet.....lol! I am intentionally avoiding making spuds! There is a real possibility that corn on the cob will make an appearance, so the family will still get their starch.

DH and I are vegetarian with strong vegan leanings. That means the only "animal products" we eat are cream in our coffee if out and they dont offer an alternative and maybe once a month if that I have my sour cream (have not found a vegan one I love).
Yesterday was vegan lasagna

Tonight was mostly veggies and brown rice with one vegan beyond sausage. I can’t buy too many of those sausages. They’re not officially for sale in most major stores in Canada. Some places buy them in bulk and package themselves for sale. It cost me $18.75 just for 5 sausages. Anyway they are really good but I can’t afford that lol.
