Westdale Branch of HPL reopened today as of noon! Check the HPL social channels for pics! If you normally use Westdale for your holds, you might like to change the hold setting back to Westdale now.
Might pop in, as I am going to the book talk at Central tonight.Last edited by Ciel; Wed, Jan 15th, 2020 at 03:43 PM. Reason: want to reflect two systems' offerings

There are no Sunday service hours this weekend due to the Canada Day weekend. But HPL fans, you can enjoy Sunday hours all summer long--the HPL board recently approved the extension of hours, instead of taking the usual 2.5 month break for summer.

Some residents are unhappy with two years of no nearby recreational swimming. City is increasing the number of swims at alternation rec centres to make up for the building closure.

The new HPL fall program guides are available in branches and today is also the first day to register for talks and activities.
I saw a Grow with Google registration-required event, one at Central on Oct 25 and another at Ancaster for Oct.29. The listing is under the Small Business Month column on p. 11 of the guide. It's probably a shorter version of the sessions I attended last October at Central branch.

There's an area of HPL Central Branch that has become a staff-only area on the second floor. Change implemented as of today:
Central Mezzanine
Publish Date:
Monday, November 25, 2019 - 9:00am
As of Monday November 25, the 2nd Floor mezzanine level at Central Library is a staff-only area.
This is a three-month trial, with the intent to enhance security. This does not impact the Fire Evacuation Plan.
The payphone on the mezzanine level is no longer in service. The payphones in the main lobby by the Jackson Square entrance remain in service.
Please use the Jackson Square entrance or the elevators near The Works restaurant as alternative entry points.
Security can adjust the elevator settings in cases where public access to the mezzanine training rooms are required.
2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
