Zellers closing - 2020

Saw the news item on CHCH late evening news. My thoughts-I have to figure out transit to the Toronto store via Mississauga for one trip for a look around (I am hoping I'll find some older style lingerie clothes pins that once were sold at Zellers Uppers James in Hamilton). Maybe next month.

I doubt you'll find any lingerie clothes pins. It's basically HBC outlet, very similar to old Sears outlets. They have random selection of clothing, furniture from Hudson Bay/Home outfitters and some overpriced household items, like 100-dollar bed skirts. No regular stock.

@Bloodymary Thanks for the merchandise info! I was not impressed with HBC outlet at Toronto Premium Outlet mall but I could still find something if I go.

Ooh, just figured the transit way to get there. From Dixie Outlet Mall on the 4 bus to Sherway Gardens, then on TTC Rte 80 bus to Queensway. So I'd have to take GO train to Long Branch, then the bus to Dixie Outlet, disembark and wait for the 4 and away I'd go!

I love the "in 2011, the company reached a roughly $1.8-billion deal to sell the leases of 189 Zellers stores to Target".....we all know what happened to Target.

@mulock There had to be real estate locations that got Target's attention. Some locations now have new lives but others linger waiting for new purposes. Let's hope the two Zellers locations get snapped up for new stores quickly!
