    DH and I attended a BBQ , a family reunion ( of sorts? ) , his side.
So I created a fun tray with beautiful fresh strawberries, blueberries and mango. I used one long wooden skewer to thread the largest strawberries on, to have as the base. Then I poked as many smaller skewers which had blueberries and smaller strawberries threaded onto them into the base berries. Added chunks of sweet mango and blueberries threaded onto other skewers which added another colour to the look. It turned out so cute and I brought tubs of Cool Whip to dip the skewers in! Why didn't I think to snap a darn photo of it before I left? grrr!

Anyhow, I also brought a nice deep clear glass bowl filled with 7 layer nacho dip! Whee!!! I really wanted each layer to pop with colour. The actual cream cheese/sour cream/taco powder filling was split so that I could have it at the very bottom, but also half way up. I added Cayenne pepper this time making it spicier as I know most people like it way spiceir than I do.

Grated plenty of the nippiest extra old Balderson's cheddar, along with some Mozz, small diced and squeezed out unwanted liquid from various veg used, plum tomatoes, red cabbage, carrots celery, cucumbers, zucchini, green onions, bell peppers, but this time I arranged them in the layers so their individual colours showed separately.
( Usually I toss all the diced veg together and they go on the top )
Drizzled two layers of the liquid taco sauce in between as well.
grrr! again, I took no photo....honestly.... sometimes my brain irritates me!

The day was so much fun!! It was lovely to reconnect and catch up.

Yum! The dip sounds amazing! My friends are always so fancy with their dishes they bring when we get together (usually a night time gathering where we pig out after a few too many drinks!) I am totally going to try and make your nacho dip next time!!

Sauteed up my whole fresh Rainbow Trout ( caught in Manitoulin Island according to the wrapping ? ) in unsalted butter.
Is there anything tastier than the crisped skin of a fish?
Oven roasted up 1/2 inch thick steak slices of cauliflower and tossed a few mushrooms into the pan when the fish was done.
Half of everything I cooked was plenty for lunch, the other half will be for my dinner tonight.

dont know exactly what to make for lunch today, but it will be either a toasted tomato sandwich or a fried egg sandwich (with a hint of ketchup).

It's a family Christmas party this afternoon. Everybody brings whatever food to fill the buffet table up. We'll be bringing 4 extra lg pizzas, ( 2 from Pizza Pizza, 2 from Metro Fresh2Go....they make them so delicious )

Somehow I got it in my head that wasn't enough, so early this morning I made thick cut chips from a 10 lb bag of russets. Took a while to deep fry in batches, and then later I used the Air fryer to do batches of roasted chicken up.
I roasted a whole chicken first and then around 35 drumsticks.

That should be enough! ha ha
