I used 130,000 in points, got $200 off and spent $26 or so on the tax.

I also did a redemption and some of the item I got have personal points offer I.e. spend $10 on coke and get 2000 points but I did not get the points. So we don't get points when we redeem our points. If I'm wrong, could someone please let me know. Thanks

I think it depends on how offers are worded. I got 1000 points today when I got eggs as part my redemption, but I think offers get 2000 points wys $10 offers won’t work. As well as items that are 10x or 20 x etc. Don’t work when redeeming.

I did an online beauty redemption on Friday. My VISA was charged for the taxes, got an order confirmation from SDM as well notice that the order was shipped but my points were not reduced. I wonder if it was a glitch in the system. Anyone experience this?

A friend of mine went to try a bonus redemption tonight to buy about 275 worth of items and use 250,000 Optimum points. She was told she had to spend 400 first to do that. The store called the manager who said if she spent 250 she would only get 70,000 points. It seemed very confusing. She was not able to do a bonus redemption after all. How much do you have to spend in total to get 150 back if you use 250,000 optimum points?

Yes she should have added more things to her cart. $400 worth of product total. That's the bonus of this redemption..get $400 worth of stuff by redeeming 250 000 pts (normal value of $250). You don't get points back, you get added value to the points you are redeeming

Ah, okay. I had a look at the flyer last night myself, but was also not clear on how this would work. We can both see now that some good planning could really maximize this deal. I expect there will be other bonus redemption events in the coming year, I should have enough points for a good one, too, by then.

Your friend could also have redeemed 130k for $200, then paid the rest. If she didn't need everything, she could have put some things back so as to reduce her $ OOP by spending just over $200 before tax.
