I'm going to New York at the end of Feb. for a mini-vacation with my mom. We're planning to do a lot of the usual touristy stuff like see the Statue of Liberty and the Guggenheim. Do you have any tips for ways to save money on our trip and fun things to do for cheap?

While I haven't been there in over 10 years, there used to be a place where Broadway shows would clear out their same-day tickets for half-off.

There's CityPASS. I've purchased their Toronto CityPASS before.

Uniqlo's New City Store likely has the full range of items carried by the company. Enjoy browsing what we likely don't get here except by mail order.

If you visit Male Pattern Boldness Blogspot, the sewist posts about cultural events and sewing store places to visit, aside from his recent sewing projects and finds. He's hosting MPB day on Sat. March 7-maybe if you and Mom are fans of fabric, you can check out stores and museum exhibits (he usually knows when there is free admission for fashion-related shows). He did post that the Chelsea Flea Market is no longer operating.
