hubby has not been able to pick up any shifts for weeks now, DD#1 is sick with a common cold (thank goodness), DD#2 is teething so she is not happy etc.
we are low on rice - only 1/3 of a small bag left but we will manage, we are stocked on pastas from $1 sale and $0.75 coupons that i traded last year.
FYI to stretch the rice, you can make congee instead of plain white rice. I made beef congee with ground beef, carrots, onion, beef stock. Congee is also easier to swallow when you are sick. It's like chicken noodle soup for us.

I also feel it on the mental health, I felt like working from home now and being told to work from home would really help me mentally. But the reality of today is I am struggling and being alone (Mom is working, still trying to decide my feelings on this) is making me spin more.

All of this uncertainty is not helping. Mom said she was going to go and try to do some shopping before work (up until now anything we have needed has been on me to find) which made me happy but she did not get out of the house early enough to have time. I have a feeling I will need to go tomorrow.

Please do not get me wrong, I understand why local stores are offering Senior only shopping times but I really wish it was not everyday as if I need to go out, I would prefer to go fist thing in the morning before the stores get busy. Maybe even if it was all days but say Friday and Saturdays so others could get in and get out. I do not know like everything happening right now, there are no clear answers.

morning everybody -well I went to the doctor's this morning as I woke up with a rash on my corner of my forehead near the hairline .I was lying on the couch whe it fell a bit itchy and thought that feels like bumps -so I called doctor got thru at 9.10 she said we have to see you, come at 11.00 as we are staggering people .Iwore gloves ,took the stairs and as soon as I walked in they said in here .Only one person was in the doctors office also .

Well I have shingles age 60 and so wanted to pay for that vaccine last year but with son-in-laws mother passing away last august that sent me into some health problems ,in fact I was on other medication for a problem well into jan

So when hubby and I got back from this trip in feb I told him when the spring is here I will pay the 400 or 500 it costs for this shingle vaccine ,but I had 4 colds this winter (thanks to grandchildren who are in daycare)

At least I got the meds as its imperative to get on it with 72 hours ,doctor told me grandkids will not get it as they were imunnized ,hubby wont get it unless he touches the sore (so I will sleep in spare room)

I know I got it from streses as my daughter has a few problems and that stressed me out last week ,plus my grandson touching the glass in dairy queen the other day stressed me out this whole covid19 is stressfull.

So doctor said don't go out til the sore crust over and scab in 7-10 days (hello I am in anyway)and to get my rest .So I went into rexall to get my meds 1/2 an hour wait ,so I sat in the car til them .I bought my gavison as I have had some heartburn and bought a grape juice and applejuice along with 2 caramilk bars for hubby and I .

I also have to watch if it travels near my eye and go to the amblitory care hospital as they have an eye clinic .Anyway everyone take care keep your distance -oh and rexall had some toilet paper limit 1 8.99 for 8 rolls and no I didn't grab it as I have 3 down the basement.

I agree. I'd rather shop in the morning before the morning crowd. But I think for most stores the senior hours are additional hours to their normal hours. I.e. store regularly opens @ 8, they'll open at 7 for the seniors.

Our fridge is empty. DS called me this morning asking if I was bringing food home for lunch because he was starving. I stopped and grabbed bread ($1 fresh loaf) and miracle whip ($3 PM Loblaws) and we made toasted roast beef sandwiches.

I plan to do groceries on my way home from work (get in there before the weekend rush and the Child Tax credit comes out tomorrow which is already a madhouse time I find)

Stopped at Food Basics on my way back to office to pick up 2 x clementines ($1.88) 2 x cucumbers (.88) taco kit $2.99) used $5 coupon for prouduce/taco kit purchase and paid $3.51. Our Food Basics has a limit of 2 on everything and limit of 1 on paper products.

Plan to go to No Frills on the way home and redeem points on a decent shop.

Our SDM has a notice on the door that it opens at 7AM for seniors and the usual opening hour is 8AM, so make sure with your SDM first.

I was just told that our local CO-OP is making it perfectly clear that people who are coming back from hot holidays or the USA are not welcome. They’ve had a staff meeting about it. Literally escorting those people out of the store and reminding them about the delivery option.

Our local Kinsmen are also affecting free deliveries for anyone needing it.

    @coupon girl

My husband has had shingles. Stress is a huge factor. I slept in the same bed with him when he had it, but his sores were on his legs, which were covered. It is very uncomfortable so sending you virtual hugs.

I have spent most of today away from the media to help my own mental health. We taught my middle daughter how to play Yahtzee today. I think baby steps for all of us is important. We can only take one day at a time right now and even not think too far ahead in our thoughts.

I saw Quebec teacher's contracts were not renewed because their collective agreement has not been closed, Ontario is in a similar boat so that is scary to think that could happen to us too. Again, drawing back to not thinking ahead.

This week I am on March Break. I will be paid for two weeks after that. Don't worry about the rest.

**Hugs** Coupon Girl, keep safe and yes, make sure you watch they do not go near your eyes.

From what we were told it is very rare but my Oma got shingles behind her eyes and they never cleared up, I was a teenager when she got them. I remember just after I started driving going to pain clinics with her, I only remember this as I was left in the car with the kids and told if anyone gives us issue to move the car. She sadly had them till the day she passed and the pain was unbearable.

CheriLyn, not sure if it is because I live in a small but none of our stores are opening early instead they are dedicating the first hour to senior shop which I get. But I do think they would benefit from not doing this Fridays and Saturdays as we have a number of people who work from home on Fridays and do there shopping and families that are working go Saturdays.

I admit it right now with my anxiety going during busy times really sets off my anxiety and right now I cannot seem to find a time when Mom can go with me, having someone with me helps. But even I find I freeze up a little when people get a crazy right now. The other day someone was telling off the cashier and I was a couple lanes over but still I felt that weird feeling within of okay, calm down, breathe, it is okay but with that being said I was so happy to get out of there and just had to sit in the car for a minute.
