Expect a lump sum one time payment of $500 - about 5 months from now in August, if you are almost 75 & getting OAS. Announced in Federal budget couple of days back.

    ---------------

OAS pensioners who will be 75 or over by June 2022 will receive a one-time payment of $500 in August 2021.

    Budget 2021
also proposes to boost regular OAS payments for pensioners 75 and over by 10 per cent as of July 2022.

Doesn't the budget need to be passed by vote in Parliament before any of the items tabled in the budget can be enacted?
