Great. Did you germinate seeds under a phytolamp or just on a windowsill? I tried to germinate flax under a phytolamp and it turned out great. True, I germinated to eat the sprouts.

I sprouted them in the dark under my sink. Today is day 5 and I'm leaving them in the light probably by the window. Hopefully putting them on my sandwich for lunch. I tried microgreens a couple of weeks ago but seem to prefer the sprouting/rinsing method. What other seeds have you tried sprouting? Its opened up new possibilities to me

I've experimented a lot. Sprouted wheat, soybeans, beans. Flax came to my taste the most, but this is individual. Some people like flax, others like wheat, and still others like alfalfa. In general, you need to experiment.

Started some seeds today just because I'm anxious. Will pull the pots from the shed this weekend and start my planting soon.
I have an outside table I plan to put the pots on to make it easier to take care of (and the bunnies away!) when I move them outside.

I've been learning how to sprout seeds lately . I'm also trying flowers from seed this year. DH is being very patient with my plant sprawl.

Small to medium size tomatoes-mostly green with about one-two small tomatoes turning orange or red about every 3-4 days.
I cut back some tomato plants, took off green tomatoes with insufficient leaves but good size fruits to ripen on table outside.

The three little spicy pepper plants still produce about 3 ok tiny peppers per week and still have new flowers. But I think all of the veggie plants will be yanked out before Thanksgiving, if not next week, given the cold nights of late causing leaves to roll up and dry out.

It was a summer away from the garden this year. I was in NS from Spring until September following my dad's passing. My partner planted the tomatoes, peppers, and herbs I started in March outside in June for me while I was away. It was a rough growing season - extreme heat capped off with a hail storm in August. Yikes!

The only thing left in the garden right now are potatoes, mint, sage, and a few little marigolds. The first snow of the season is falling as I type. I got the garlic patch planted in late September (whew!). Though I am glad for the break of the winter months, especially this year, I am already thinking about what I might like to grow next summer. Hopefully, it will be a summer of "normal" weather, rather than the temperature extremes we've had in recent years.

@TrueNorthTreasures (((Hugs))) on your father's passing. That's a significant loss. Hope you took walks and admired others' gardens to help you with your grieving journey.
Well done with the garlic planting.

Mom decided to plant various fruit pits in hopes of starting some kind of trees to transplant into pots with aims of growing young saplings. Her timing for stratification is rather good. Not sure how many trees will actually start growing next year.

Her tomato plants really did not like my cutback last month. The remaining tomatoes on vines really did not ripen and sported cold burns from the chilly nights.

Thank you, @Ciel . I spent a lot of time in The Public Gardens while I was there.

What kinds of fruit trees did your Mom start?

My 2022 growing season has started indoors. Mixed lettuces herbs regrowing celery and scallions. Garden 2 lettuces and chard. Garden 3 pak choy tom thumb peas and tiny tim tomatoes. Also sprouting mung beans for stir fries.

My indoor Tom thumb peas are flowering . I harvested our salad greens chard and pak choy.
I have some microgreens to harvest as well.
