Our Blue Jays got pummeled by the Astros ( 13-1 ) last night and the bitter pill of our Leafs dropping to the Habs is still caught in my throat BUT....I just watched the IIHF game ( yes it started at 7 a.m. ) and Canada beat the USA and is now going for Gold!
What a strange and nerve-wracking path ( for the fans ) for the Canadian team to travel. I'm pretty certain no one said
" hey, lets lose the first 3 games badly and then try to catch up! ".

You know its been a long time since the grandkids were over at out house for lunch. Yesterday, son and his gang showed up just because. And i really really enjoyed having them because this was the first time and i had a conversation with my 3 grandkids all in English. they have been raised Francophone and didnt speak English much, but what a difference a year makes! All 3 are fluent in English which was a very big surprise. I asked what happened over the past year and DS said he made sure they only watched English TV and he only spoke English to them at home. It was a very nice surprise.

Yay! We are doing some renovations and finally found a contractor to do souffits. they are being replaced today! Next come new gutters, hopefully this year before winter. And we have a new front door on order for installation sometime in Feb 2022.

I was at Dollarama yesterday and bought my 3 cats a new cat toy. Its a mouse that squeeks. But guess what! The crazy cats are afraid of it! What a waste of money, but it was funny to watch them.

I received a bouquet of flowers from a friend for my birthday (this coming Sunday, June 5). It was a big surprise and totally unexpected - in the years we've known each other he's sent emails, texts, cards but this is a first. When the delivery person rang and said he had flowers, I was sure it was a mistake! (Sorry the photo's so big - don't know how to make it smaller - someone wanna tell me how? )
