Zman I gave up trying I think I have only got 1st once. I'm too slow in trying to spell the bonus code word!!! LOL
The medicine is starting to work but I dunno, it's going to be a long night...25 stitches and I can feel every one of them. The pitfalls of grinding my teeth so much. The worst part is I don't realize I'm doing it!!!
Well I'm going to lie down and get cranky.....Have a great night!!
See ya tomorrow

Maggie, you can be fitted with a device that looks like a hockey mouth guard that you can wear at night that will prevent nocturnal teeth grinding.
Most teeth grinding occurs at night when you are not aware that it is happening.
Not really that expensive if you have to pay for it personally, but usually covered by your dental plan.
Ask your dentist about this. Oral devices of this this kind are not unusual and generally quite effective.
Worst case scenario, go to your local sport shop and buy a regular hockey mouth guard.
It will definitely help your problem and save you a lot of unnecessary dental procedures.
It never hurts to ask. If your dentist is reputable, he may agree with this as a solution to your problem.
If he is reluctant to try this, I say get a second opinion.
Just my personal opinion on this matter. I am not dentist and my suggestions are merely that. SUGGESTIONS!!
However, I could be all wet on this. But maybe not.
Just trying to help. I certainly want to help you feel better and to try to help future re-occurances from happening in the future.

Maggie, if you feel that my last post was out of line, please ignore my personal comments on this issue.
I was just trying to help.
At this point, and upon personal reflection, I just feel that I was delving into an area that I am not competent in commenting on and perhaps I should have not made any comments on.
If you feel that this is the case, please ignore my previous post, but I do speak from from personal experience on this matter.

Zman You are so right, I did have a night guard, well I've had alot of them. I ground through them, My plan covers 1 per 2 years. Our company restructured our dental plan. It used to be one a year. The ones that you can buy are so thin I can grind through them in a week!!! Kind stuck between a tooth and a hardplace LOL. Right now I just don't want to add that extra expense to the budget, paying for my daughters off campus house is more that we bargained for....Getting the surgury like I got yesturday is covered every year so, I guess I can make that work till she is done school. The pain is out of this world this morning but I think I can muddle through.....
I do miss all my "shopping" but last week getting out to the casino and just blowing a few dollars was a really nice treat!!!
I'll tell you something, my boys heads are going to roll this morning!!! Those darn fools, I went to bed early and asked them to make sure the dog got out for a little tinkle before 11pm... Well the dog woke me at 3am very upset, poor thing was almost crying, I followed her and she brought me to the kitchen and she showed me he tiny "accident" she still had her poor little legs crossed. I had to take her out and let her "Get ur done" Thats her command all you have to do is say those words and she'll go immediatly. I looked down in the family room and hubs was snoring away in his chair!!! Right now I am thinking of a fitting punishment....I will be good!!!

Hey z man; I think your posts were just fine, and I'm sure Maggie does too. Your suggestion is a good one, and everyone appreciates suggestions that might help a situation. So don't worry about expressing an opinion.
Boy Maggie and I have certainly done so quite a few times.
Tell you about mine sometime. So keep it up.

Maggie, holy sh*t girl !!!!
25 stitches; I didn't know your mouth was that big.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
Even with the pain meds, you're going to have a rough couple of days.
Hope you have lots of puddings & jello around.
Take it easy, sleep, and just know I'll be thinking of you.

Hicks here are the closet doors Hubbie made for me....They still need door knobs and a magnetic latch. But I am so surprized what he did. Turning those terrible builders grade doors to that!!!
He is pretty handy!!!! Oh hows the sink he put in for you?? I hope it's working well!!!

Wow, he did a great job !! The sinc is just perfect. He's quite 'handy' to have around.
I could certainly use a man around here, for a number of things.Last edited by 22hicks; Sat, Nov 17th, 2012 at 10:53 AM.
