Well the saga of my snowblower is over, finally !!!!
Thurs., the blower, just sitting in the garage, started to leak gas. Left the door open a foot to ventilate.
By Friday eve., I had quite a bit of gas across the floor & under the car. Boy, not only the garage, but the entire house stunk of gasoline. Moved it outside, & my neighbour spent this morning puttering with it.
Finally gave in, & called a repair guy to have a look ......
He picked it up, & worked on it for over 2 hours. He did get it started, but there were a # of issues, which he could fix, but the gas tank was split from the top to the bottom, accounting for all the gas on the floor of the garage. He could replace it, but with all the other problems, it wasn't worth the expense.
Bottom line - it's junk.
I told him he could keep it for parts, & he didn't charge me anything.
So, I guess I'm in the market, or just keep on shovelling.

What make was it, how old is it and what size was it? Most large snowblowers can be repaired for around $200.00. Gas tanks are cheap. Also if you could smell gas in the house what does that say about the seal between the house and garage when it comes to carbon monoxide.

Everything is GREAT !!! Thanks for asking.
It was a LAWN-BOY Single Stage 720E Push Button Electric Start
* 6.5 horse power
* 35' throw distance
* 1800 lb./min
* 20" clearing width
* weight 76 lbs.
Origional Cost: $999.93 (before taxes) & purchased Dec. / 2002
He could fix everything for about $250.
I can buy a new one, not as good of course, for about double that. Decision made.
Also if you could smell gas in the house what does that say about the seal between the house and garage when it comes to carbon monoxide.
When I bought the house, 3 yrs. ago, asked inspector about the seal. Was told it was "fine, nothing to worry about". So, I don't know what to do now, or who to call.Last edited by 22hicks; Sun, Jan 6th, 2013 at 08:37 AM.

At least have a carbon monoxide detector on each level of your house. That should address any concern of carbon monoxide gas.

Does anyone really care that hockey is back? In Toronto, only ones that will have tickets anyways are the corporate nimrods. 48 games and what is the NHL going to do for the fans??? They locked us out with the players!!! And the players can kiss my ass as well, as where do millionaires get off crying that they do not make enough money and they have no pension! The way I see it, they have better pensions than over 90% of us! All of them are babies and we are the saps!!
But Habs Rule!

Hockey will be back is that a fact, I don't see people jumping up & down,
Maybe the hockey oomph & gusto just ain't coming back to town,
A tentative agreement they say & modified schedule to boot,
Are the fans willing to buy in this time & part with hard earned loot,
Hockey Night in Canada once upon a time,
Almost a Saturday rite of passage that saw us through our prime,
I wonder what Howie Meeker thinks & what would Foster Hewitt say?
Or should we just put this dispute behind us & get on with the play by play?
Stompin' Tom Connors we need you, set The Hockey Song to croon,
Even the big bad Bobby Clobber types cause we love to hate a goon,
Referees & linemen laced up with whistles in hand,
We do still love our hockey & on guard we all still stand,
Faceoffs, passing, & heads up remember to play your line,
Do your job, score goals, get to business & we will all be fine,
Hockey dreams will always be there & in young hearts they dwell with zeal,
No more executive loitering. let this season just reveal.

Could not agree more hicks with your post
Personally. I really don't care any more
Too many fat assed owners and too many greedy players making way too much money at the expense of the real fans of this great game.
Everyone has lost their focus. They are only interested in profits and don't give a damn about the real fans of this game
Personally, I will not watch a single game this year and have cancelled my satellite connection for all NHL games.
Bettman and Fehr only care about their own wallets and couldn't give a rats ass about the paying public. Screw them both.Last edited by zfurman; Sun, Jan 6th, 2013 at 07:40 PM.

Well, all my decorations are packed away for another year, & the tree is down.
It took me all day & I can barely move. I'm so sore & tired.
Still have the house to clean before I can put back all the regular stuff, but that's for another day.
