Encarnacion Shut Down
According to Sportsnet's Barry Davis, Edwin Encarnacion has been shut down for the rest of the Blue Jays season. The slugger was placed on the disabled list with a wrist injury. He will have surgery on his wrist later this week.
Cecil Done For Season
Blue Jays pitcher Brett Cecil has been placed on the disabled list with elbow problems and will be shut down for the remainder of the year. The lefty will go for a precautionary MRI.
