​My personal tribute to a very special man on the 50th anniversary of his assassination

Hicks, no matter what anyone's differences are, JFK is one thing I 100% agree with you with. Unfortunately he died 2 years to the day before I was born, so this day has very mixed feelings for me! But it is his values and beliefs my parents came to Canada with. This is a very nice tribute you have done!

They closed the school as soon as his death was announced, & it stayed closed the rest of the week.
I watched the funeral from home with my entire family. In New York, they even shut down wall street, & to my knowledge, it's never happened again, even on 9/11.
I'll never forget walking home; everyone was crying, & total strangers hugging.
I don't think we'll EVER see any politician this popular again. His death changed history, much for the worse.

I am proclaiming that I will not be watching frostbite football today,
Even though it's about a coveted cup that is grey......

I would rather read a book, or clean a cranny & dust a nook. I will never be a football fan, so watching this game will not be my plan. I will not watch it from across the street, from a comfy chair in a deluxe suite. I just don't get it & I never will, as football just doesn't give me a thrill. Others have tried to bring me up to speed, but I do not have that football need. So watch your game & route for your team, you can cheer or yell, then holler & scream. You can criticize the officials if they make a bad call, cause you were watching who last touched the ball. So bring on the chili, the nachos & wings, stuff yourself silly with a feast fit for kings. I haven't mentioned beer, cause that is a given & those suds seem to be how all you sports fans are driven. So the tomorrow, you can replay the game & discuss what went wrong, & to this season, it's time to say so long.
