Maple Leafs Welcome Back Fans

As a thank you to their loyal fans and in celebration of the upcoming NHL season, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced a series of fan appreciation initiatives Thursday, which includes a free ticket for all Maple Leafs Season Seat Holders to Opening Night, Monday, January 21.

The team will also giveaway 1,000 tickets through a variety of promotions leading up to the home opener, in addition to the more than 15,000 season seat holders receiving their tickets free of charge.

Over the next four days, the Maple Leafs' 'Blue and White Crew' will be on the search for fans showing Leafs pride and wearing team apparel. The Blue and White Crew will visit various locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area randomly awarding tickets for the Home Opener to proud members of Leafs Nation.

Just my 2 cents worth, but there is almost 6-7 million people in the GTA and these morons at MLSE think 1000 free tickets is good enough to shut the fans up! Since Bell and Rogers own MLSE now, why not give the NHL package to their customers in the hockey regions, but giving 1000 cheap tickets away for home opener makes sense and everyone is happy now! LOL, the big winners are the corporates, as they need a place to take clients and get a substantial writeoff again! NHL takes a full page ad in major newspapers throughout North America and says sorry and we should accept that and start buying tickets and merchandise again. LOL!

Remembering the Hockey Hall of Fame when it was at the CNE,
Also if memory serves me correctly, the admission there was free,
It was more of a museum with memorabilia, trinkets & stats,
Look at the old time pictures & engage in friendly chats,
The guys who made it to the NHL were only a select few,
They weren’t in it for the money, just a dream they did pursue,
Long before the days of lucrative deals & contracts to line the pocket,
If he were playing in today’s world, how much would they pay the Rocket?
The boards are cluttered with ads now & it doesn’t seem as pure,
Money is front & centre, & for that you can be sure,
Different times, bring different things & hockey still captivates us,
No longer do the teams travel on a chartered Greyhound bus,
So many teams, so many players, & the season lingers well into spring,
But, even though it’s changed so much, hockey still does have that zing,
Just some memories that came to mind this morning when I got up,
& Loocie actually remembers when The Leafs won the Stanley Cup!

Weekend.... Yech!!
My wife has a job list longer than I am tall for me to do this weekend.
hmmmm..... maybe I can get sick again !
That worked last weekend. I doubt it would work two weekends in a row.
Got to think about a better plan. Really though, guess I can't prolong taking down the Christmas tree any longer. It will make a great fire.

By the way, I have to let all of you know that either habs rules or I will have a new AVATAR come Sunday.
Habs rules and I have made a bet on the Toronto - Montreal game on Saturday.
As you can tell, he is a huge Montreal fan and I am a huge Leafs fan
The loser has to change his avatar to the choice of the winner.
Don't know what this will look like, but forewarned is forearmed.
This should be fun for all.
I sure hope that the Leafs win because I have a big surprise for him if Toronto wins.
I am sure that the reverse is also true.
Come on Leafs, don't let me down !!

My wife tuned into you tube and selected Frank Sinatra favorites with 100 songs in the list.
We've been listening to this all morning.
When the playlist got to "My Way"
I just had to replay it 5 times over.
Better than the original Paul Anka version.
Just love that song. It mirrors my life so much.
Everyone should take a message from the lyrics of that song.
Often used that song as the last song of the evening when I was playing out.
It was always well received.
