Hi Peaches, I have PM'd at WM and at RCSS with the NF flyer but some of the same chains (Loblaws group) may not do it. I won that battle at the RCSS by my work on this one but the CS decided she had to make three separate phone calls after the manager told her it should be ok. She just didn't want to do it! In the end, everyone she called said yes so she had too. She was not happy though!
I would suggest that you take the NF flyer to Extra Foods as it is close and try to buy one item. If it was me, I would go straight to CS. The reason I say one item is that in this particular case, I wouldn't go to CS first and ask if they will PM to NF, they will likely say no without even thinking about it. This way, you haven't spent an hour in the store, picking up your items only to be told they won't. They didn't ask to keep my flyer.
If they won't do it, go to WM and tell them at the cash register. Take your flyer, and the last time I PM'd at WM I had to leave my flyer, but I don't know if that is always the case. As for SCOP, you can do it either way, I think. I prefer to hold up the line a bit and do it at the register. That way they just can't void the item. If I am doing a big shop with alot of coupons and I know that I will be SCOP'ing, I always warn anyone getting in line behind me that I might be awhile. Some want to stay and watch and some move to a different one.
I have only been doing this a few months, so others, please feel free to correct me or provide your own opinions. I am always learning as well!!Last edited by schwarzie; Mon, Aug 29th, 2011 at 11:56 PM.

I did SCOP at the register this weekend at WM. I put the SCOP item first so the cashier could call the CSM (or head cashier? not sure who it was that came over). Then she put the rest of my items and coupons through while we waited so there wasn't any idle waiting time involved.
As for price matching, WM usually asks to keep my flyers. London Drugs usually doesn't, but on occasion I've had them cut out pieces of the flyer to keep.

SCOP = Scanning Code of Practice
It is a voluntary program that most stores follow. If your item scans in at the wrong price (a higher price) you get it for free. If you have more than one of that item you get the first free and the rest are adjusted down to the proper price.

Can be great Calgarymom! I find that WM is the WORST (and best for us) for actually adjusting sale prices. Anytime I am buying something there that is on sale, I always go to the scanner ahead of time and see what the scanned price is. I have had it scan higher many times! Takes some time, but worth the effort as if I know that I will SCOP the first one, I buy extras

If anyone is interested Hungtington Hills superstore had still physician formula make up left at under $5 prices, and lots of $5off coupons on the boards. Mostly pressed powders. You have to scan them at the self checker, which is right there in the make up area, because many scan cheaper but are not marked down yet. Self check out people had no problems with me using many coupons.
