Thank you ladies, it was always nice to visit with u all. Especially LauraV drove all the way to see us.
What does it mean by this thread is expired ? How can u tell ?
If you look on Kijijij under childcare you will get a good idea. I would say the rate for providing child care in someboy`s home starts around $10 per hour and up from there. If somebody is bringing their child to you part-time you would probably charge them about $5 per hour up to a max of 40-50 per day.
Calgarymom, I would maybe suggest that you set a daily rate for the 5 hours, but then also provide an overtime rate. So that if the child is in your care for more than the 5 hours, you charge a bit extra. Also take into account if you are having to feed the child. That can also get expensive.
For all the moms, I am looking at this from a business perspective only, not a personal one. I know that if my BF picks up his daughter late, there is a surcharge.
LOL, ok I was thinking of charger a daily rate but I have not heard from her since she was suppose to talk to her work about times on tuesday, it was also about the same time I brought up money. We did not even get into amounts but I am starting to think that she was asumming I was going to do it for free. I am 27 weeks pregnant so there is no way I am going to take care of an extra kid for free.
^ I think that it would be awfully inconsiderate for anyone to think that you would just take care of their child for free! Afterall you are sacrificing your one on one time with your own little one.
Seriously? There is no way anyone should expect you to do that for free!
Yes, I agree! I will have to wait and see I guess. She sent me a message today but no mention of when she wants me to start watching her DS or anything. I guess I will have to ask if she still wants me to. I would not mind watching him once in a while for free but not every day.
Absolutely once in awhile when she needs a favour! But just be careful! I find that when you start doing a favour like that, then suddenly some people, and I am not saying this is the case with your firend, take advantage!
Maybe you can find out how much it would cost for her to take her DS to a day home etc and then offer her a discounted price or something, depending on how good of a friend she is.
I have a friend who runs a dayhome and i think she charges between 500 to 700 a month for full time care, depending on the age of the child.
Smart Source is in this morning's Calgary Herald. :)
Did anyone manage to snag an insert in Edmonton today?? I couldn't find any! I really wanted the Finish coupons...
