Found a few of the Metro boxes around my neighborhood on wed afternoon but thepapers were all gone. Hopefully there will be some there this morning on my way home from work - if not, I give up!!!
Does anyone know is the smartsource flyer in today's herald ?
Yes, Mission. Smartsource is in this morning's Calgary Herald.
Thanks, jandbby
If you are into canning and preserving fruits and vegetables Sat and Sun is Heritage Parks big harvest sale. They bring in truckloads of fruits and vegetables and sell them apparently low low prices. I have never gone but this year I am trying to put up preserves so might be going to check it out. Has anyone here gone before?
I have heard abt it but never went. I did check out their website and found the summer admission price was a bit high : $19/adult, $14/kid, it would cost us 50 bucks (after cpn price) just to get in.
Would love to see all the fruits and vegetables though as I have been growing some in my own backyard. :-)
Thx for heads up regarding smartsource coupons : )
Regarding the heritage park produce I recieved an email that said some vendors are set up before the entrance gates so no admission that wouls be nice. I wish I knew for sure as this is a long drive for me, my garden is producing but its been so cool no cukes hardly any peppers and tomatoes are just starting.
has anyone been to heritage park lately? I'm wondering if you have to pay extra to ride the paddle boat and go for a train ride?
Not sure abt the paddle boat, never tried it there but the train ride, u can get cpn (student pak or calgary attraction) to ride for free.
Cost for the rides at Heritage park are $3.15 per ride. The train ticket is valid for all day. Or you can purchase a ride braclet for $ 10.50 to cover all the rides ( Train, Boat, Wagon and all the rides in the amusement Park ). There are tickets around for free train rides as well as a 2 for 1 entrance coupon in the entertainment book and a 50% off a second admission coupon on www.calgaryattractions.com
Thanks for the info everyone! DH and I were thinking of taking DD there this weekend.
I have been to the heritage park fall harvest sale a few times (not for a few years though). It is always crazy busy and lots of fun. Everything is in bulk so you need to bring wagons, dollys (or both) to get your produce back to the vehicle. I will be going again tomorrow as we got seasons passes this year. If you are thinking of going be there early to get the best selection, some things sell out within the first hour (strawberries etc) - I usually have gone there well before they open and have been amazed at how many people are already in line.
If you are going to go to the park with your kids plan on getting a ride pass as the train, boat, ferris wheel and other rides are extra and the kids will want to go on them.
SOS
I promised goddess I would grab her 3 copies of the smart source because she is out of town, I've been to 4 places and only managed to find 2 copies :( I can't go anywhere else because I have to put my kids to bed. Please, if one of the trading buddies could grab an extra copy for her if you have a chance I would really appreciate it!!!

OMG thank you so much I didn't even think about how I was going to carry things!!! I will be going and my dd, we are actually shop for canning stuff. I can't imagine how busy it is going to be I really do not like crowds at all. Hopefully vendors will be set up before the entry because it costs so much for admission.
oh, monkey, wish I seen ur post b4 I went out, just came back with 2 kids and DH is not here, otherwise, I would rush out and grab u a copy right now.
Plus, the newstand that closest to me is all empty. I was gonna risk leaving the kids at home for 5 mins and run over there, but now, I would have to load the kids up again and drive. So sorry. maybe wait til Sunday the Sun paper ?
Thanks anyways mission, I'll definately check sunday's paper, if not I'm sure goddess will understand :)
Monkey just a reminder you can pick up the papers at the Herald just tell them what day you want and they sell it to you with all flyers intact. I have done this a few times when the coupons were really good.
In our smartsource edition here, we didn't have this : TRY ME FREE MAIL IN REBATE OFFER FOR AIRWICK FRESHMATIC COMPACT WITH IMOTION STARTER KIT expiring in november 31 2010, correct ? Or am I losing my mind these days ?
Hello, I live in Calgary and new at getting coupons and trading.
Where do you find them in the store?
Just start scanning the shelves when you go grocery shopping. It's amazing how many coupons you find once you start looking for them! Usually the best stores to find them are: safeway, sobey's, co-op, zellers, superstore (check the coupon board near the entrance most of the time its just in store coupons but look at the top of the coupon and sometimes it will say manufacturers coupon on it), wal mart, and shoppers drug mart.
Good luck with the hunt and welcome to SC :)
Thank you for the info!!
Do we get Smartsource flyers here?
Can you get them anywhere else? I don't get the paper.
Just a quick note about Metro. I couldn't find any boxes in my neighborhood so I emailed their circulation/distribution department and asked if there were any in my immediate area and in the neighborhoods around mine. They very nicely emailed me a detailed list of where they were and whether or not they were in a paper box or in the store etc. Now I will never have a problem finding Metro. Now, let's hope they keep having good coupons!!!
