FWIW I have been looking at the safest and most effective sunscreen for my little one (literally 1 year old this week ) Due to their larger skin surface to weight ratio and sometimes less developed waste removal systems and rapidly dividing cells, I am being extra cautious with what sunscreen I use for him. So far I have purchased ombrelle because I recall that a few years ago it was the only one on the market without a certain chemical that broke down and became toxic in the sun. ( again, just from memory).

Unfortunately this web site didn't rate ombrelle but offered a list of best sunscreens and Hall of shame. I think you have to evaluate the different factors eg:

will you be inhaling them? (some sprays)
what is the UVA protection (SPF lists UVB)
are there hormone disrupting chemicals that act like estrogens?
do they degrade in sun and become toxic?

I printed their "best" list and plan to check out Community natural foods to see which of the items they may carry. I know it will be more expensive but I have to be cautious with the little guy. My dh on the other hand almost refuses to wear sunscreen and enjoys getting a tan. so what can ya do?

I sure miss the days when i enjoyed a good tan and even got fake tans to top up my natural tan. sigh. miss those days!

I was at LD and got the game card today, I will have to check it out. Maybe I can print more then 1?

I am also putting stacks together for my overdue planned stacking trains..
now fretting as so many combos seem to have cpns expiring by the end of June......and this mail rotating strike will once again play havoc with our trains.

Monique and I would like to set up a meeting in the afternoon at:
Deerfoot Mall, 64th Ave, WalMart McDonalds

Time to meet : 2 pm on Monday 13th

Does this timing work for anyone??

Please let me know ASAP so that I know if I need to worry and try to find a different new home, other than Calgary........ for all these stacks.

I have been hoping to join up for one of these coupon swaps sometime, but it seems like they're all during the day
I'm not a SAHM, and have to work M-F, so can't ever make daytime meets.

I've got some Colgate coupons I picked up from the dentist when I was there at the end of May that expire at the end of June (I didn't notice when I snagged them!) - feel free to check out my trade list, and if anyone would like any of these, let me know, I can drop them off somewhere or drop them in the mail (at least mail within the city doesn't take too long )

and WOW and can not believe the list of sunscreens not to buy. A lot of them are for baby's/ Kids so other moms out there should take a look at the list. The Aveeno Baby (I was thinking about getting) is on that list

quick question if anyone has kids around 4-5 yrs old. I am buying gift for my niece (who I have never met) and was told she loves playing with Lego at school. I am wondering if it's MEGABLOCKS or LEGO DUPLO? Or anyone else has any good ideas? They live in US, so I am debating buying it from here and carrying or buying through Amazone and have it delivered! No, I wasn't able to find it either. I was looking for info on ombrelle and that is where I came across that site. Haven't had a chance to research further yet. Until i buy on of the others I will use the ombrelle this week.
