I decided to give this new product from Black Diamond a try..They are called "Funcheeze" and come in different kid pleasing shapes.

I gave one each to my little girl and her friend and I tried one myself..

When my daugther saw them she said "mom these are gross,a friend tried them and didnt like them" So I told her that we would have to see for ourselves..

We each tried one and came to an equal consensus..YUCK!

I guess I expected the regular cheese string taste, but these were very strong in cheese flavor with a sharp, almost bitter bite..If you like Cow cheese (wedged shaped)then you will probably like these

But for most kids,I think, while the shapes are a novel idea, the taste is just not there...We will stick to BD String cheese.

THis product is NOT cheap either, for what you get

We do not give it any thumbs up

ITA. There is also way too much packaging for this product. My 3 & 5 year old daughters won't touch them, they're super processed tasting.

I bought them for my 18 month old thinking he would have fun with them. He loved the very first package he ate and wont/hasent touched them since. Hubby had a pack this morning to try them and said they tasted horrible. We are definately not going to buy them again.

Seems like a nice idea but not really worth the expense...if you really want to have cute shapes for your little ones buy a tiny cookie cutter in a fun shape at some place like the Bulk Barn and cut your own shapes out of your kids favourite cheese. Cheaper and probably healthier too!

well they are on sale at no frills right now and so are cheese strings...

I got the funcheez about a month ago and my daughter refused to eat them... my son doesnt mind them but refused to put any in the buggy the other day... they grabbed 2 of the cheesestrings instead and said..."if you want me to get the funcheez then I will, but I want the strings instead!"

So on that note be wont be getting the funcheez anymore... I love cheese and so do my kids, cant keep enough in the house, never found a kind I didnt like, but if they wont eat it I am not even trying it!

I was thinking the exact thing when I saw the commercial for those things.
I would love to talk to other saves/moms in the Halifax/Sackville/Bedford area.

I find that string cheese is terribly overpriced. My son is like me and loves cheese, we just buy the blocks of regular cheddar. No funky shapes necessary here! I wish I were like my husband and could take it or leave it, I'd be a LOT thinner!

My kids wont eat them either. I've been secretly making her mac n cheese with them to use them up. They have a gross texture and taste. They dont taste like processed chess slices, real cheese or string cheese. They're in a league of their own and its NASTY
