ExpiredHi thought I would write a little note. I usually buy my milk at Superstore or Sobeys in Dartmouth for $7.43 for the 4 litre bags but last night I stopped at the Young Street Superstore in Halifax and got the same Scotsburn milk for $6.27. I couldn't believe the difference for no reason. My mother said there was a place in Bayers Lake in Halifax that sells it for $5 something. I think there at the Superstore based on what Breakfast Television was saying when they increased the milk prices.
Not sure if anyone has noticed this differences in prices for just regular milk but I will be shopping at the Young Street superstore for milk from now on. I would rather have the $1.16 in my pocket.
Enjoy the sunny weather today. This thread is currently associated with: Real Canadian Superstore RCSS, Sobeys

Yeah when they do surveys when they propose a milk increase we are usually pretty high up there.

Milk prices in Nova Scotia are strictly regulated by the government. Nothing to do with the dairy companies. Any prices such as sales or lower values found among stores are prices drops that stores do of their own accord (take a hit to their own profits).
phgirly must be talking about a 3-bag /4L of milk. I get that myself all the time, it is the better deal and Wal Mart seems to have the better prices for that.

Yes that is what I am refering to. 3 bags totalling 4 litres. If you buy it from Walmart it tends to be just baxters but if you want to chose the brand you like you have to go to the grocery store. Never seen it for less then $7.43 before. Just pleasantly surprised. I know shoppers puts the baxters on special occasionally as well for $3.05 lately for a 2 litre carton.

I think when shoppers drugmart started selling milk cheaper , sobeys and superstore were losing their milk sales too them.
