what's better Loblaws or super store? I have both near me, but loblaws is easier to get to.
do they have the same flyer or deals each week?
what makes one better or worse then the other?
Which would you shop at if you had the choice?

They don't have the same flyer, I would chose Superstore because it is cheeper, and Superstore can PM Loblaws
They are both owned by the Loblaws chain.
Anyone else have an opinion on which is better and why?
I have to go shopping this Friday and I rather only go to 1 of them.
Personally, I choose Superstore over Loblaws....better prices and more "unadvertised" type sales....
If they are both owned by the same people why are the flyers different?
No Frills is also owned by the same people, in that it is a Loblaws Store, as is Valu-Mart. Maybe more too? They don't have the same flyers because they are aimed at different people.
The regular Loblaws grocery stores (and Zehrs, and Fortinos, I think) tend to be higher end grocery stores. They are full service and compete with Sobeys, and umm... other high end grocery stores (I can't think of any others!)
Superstore is a little less upscale, has lower prices overall and tends to be big. I think they are sort of competing with Walmart and Zellers, in that they have clothes, and books and a kitchen section, etc. (at least at our Superstore... are they all like this?)
Sometimes some parts of the Loblaws flyer and the Supersotre flyer will be the same or almost the same. For example, this week there was the same coupon for Teddy's Choice diapers and wipes in both flyers.
Hope that helps!
Superstore is the new Loblaws! I think it's partly a union thing, I can't remember, so many negotiations about this in I think 2004, heard some rumblings about this recently...
