Expired on: Thu, May 14th, 2009Ok Guys...I have a question and am really looking for some ideas/answers and I am sure there are others wondering the same thing.....so here goes.
How long do you wait for your trade or train to come thru???before leaving a neutral or neg rating??
Take into consideration you have p'med the other ppl multiple times with out hearing back from them yet you see they are still posting on the site in multiple areas???
Please note I am not trying to create a thread to slam Sc'ers which is why I am not listing any names nor talking about specific ppl...
I really am just wondering how long do you wait???This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by Jezebel; Thu, May 14th, 2009 at 04:42 AM. Reason: spelling errors

I have never given a negative on a train. I have sent out 9 and 2 went missing. I don't know who's fault it was and I really didn't feel like going through the hassle of trying to determine it.
For a trade, if I haven't received it after a month and nothing seems to be getting resolved it would leave a negative, only done it once... don't want to do it again.

Well, I think a month is sufficient time for someone to send out their trade/train.
Some things occur that causes a delay. Like forgotten stamp, insufficient postage, time to collect.
After 2 weeks of not recieving a trade, I think a reminder should be sent out. Then give it another week or two to recieve it.
With trains, who is responsible for the lost? It's kind of a difficult call there.Join to earn GCs and many more prizes..

I have sent a trade and it took 6 weeks to get to Calgary...thanks Canada Post...who know what happened, but my fellow trader pm'd me to tell me it hadn't arrived after 2 weeks, totally fair, but I couldn't imagine not responding!! So we kept in touch and in the mean time I started trading to replace the envie for her even though she said it was no problem and to not worry about it. I would say that we checked in with each other at least weekly until yesterday I sent out a replacement and then I got home to a pm saying it arrived!!!!!!!! CRAZY!!!
I also had a trade when I first started that after 2 weeks hadn't shown up and so I contacted the sender who promptly responded and it did eventually sho up.
I also have a train that is missing right now but both the sender and the receiver both pm me back whenever i ask if maybe it has arrived or been sent back.
Sooooooooo, sorry that was a long reply......I would say 2 weeks until you pm and ASK about it and if something can be resolved then great....even if it is we'll wait a little longer and see.....I see NO reason why someone would not pm you back about something like this and if not then it sounds like bad news.....
I would say this is my 2 cents but it's got to be worth a little more than that!!!!!!!

A month can be sufficient, but sometimes things just happen. I've had trades get stuck in the mail and arrive a month and a half later (with it having been mailed in a timely fashion - shown by the PO stamp- and having let the trader know that it was late too). For my experience with that, I keep that in mind and give two months leeway.
It's hard to give definite times, every situation is different.

thanks for all the input I just find it frustrating if somebody has recieved your side of the trade or tells you they have the train but then cuts off ALL comunication(won't answer p'm's) but still posts on the site....I do not want to seem a nag!! asking them to respond....so I just keep waiting

there was once i received a train..locally..in a canada post plastic wrap!! it said sorry for the delay and damage..the envie was ripped..but that took about a week..as opposed to 1-2 days..and another..again locally..just a reg trade...and it took 2 weeks!! and again..in plastic wrap with sorry for delay LOL! so i think many factors come into the picture..many things could have happened!!
but yes..i usually pm around 2 weeks to check the status on it!!

I give it a month for trade not showed up before sending pm unless I know the coupons will expire soon then I would pm in a week and ask nicely if the envie was sent. I left my first negative feedback for a trade that I have not received after 3 months and not responded to pm.
I have not left negative feedback for trains (I do owe a lot of feedbacks though
, I am getting there). I would sent a pm to the rider after 2 weeks or so. Knock on wood my trains have not gone MIA. If it does but the rider confirms train did not reach station, I would not leave negative feedback. People often forget to post train status, it happens but as long as the train is moving, that's fine with me.

give it 3 weeks max,if nothing leave a negative, not as neutral....and if that person isnt PMing you back after all those Pm's, creat a thread saying" attention : (member name here) and speak publicly since you have no choice?

Bloo : CALM DOWN! There are the rules at this forum! Do not, please, create your own ones! Don't forget how many newbies are reading such a thread every day!
I absolutely agree with the Freedomz wait at least a month and then if nothing show up contact the person you were trading and if it's necessary Mods. Unfortunately, Canada Post is extremely slow in some areas! I know that in Alberta area from Ontario I heard already 6 times : it takes 2 to 6 weeks, like a lady above said...
Problem with a trade?

Please leave the appropriate rating in the 'coupon trade rating' AFTER talking with the tradee and trying to work things out.
If this does not resolve the issue please PM a MODERATOR

Please do not post warnings of members on here, a negative trade rating alone warns others with the username, in case it was just a misunderstanding.
Thanks

haha me calm down? Im not the one talking in caps and exclamation marks
I am not creating my own rules, what is one to do if the person is not PMing you back...according to the rules, you are talk to them right before giving a rating,if not PM since they are ignoring it,a thread? Its not like you are accsuing the member or fighting with anybody, nothing wrong with asking through a thread"wheres my trade,PLease PM" and thats itLast edited by Bloo; Thu, May 14th, 2009 at 06:42 PM.
