I have a similar story to share- a few weeks back I was at Value Village to buy a dress for my little one....infront of me in the line was an older lady...counting a whole counter full of change for her purchases.....after her and the cashier counted it 3 or 4 times, she was short 60 cents for her purchase..the cashier asked her if she had it...she said I will have to put something back...I reached in my pocket and gave the lady a loonie to make the difference....she said Thank you so much-one day I will see you around and do something nice for you. I told her just to do something similar for someone else oneday...She reached into her coat and pulled out the fully stamped 30% off card that the cashier had just gave her and handed it to me...She said Dear, you take this-you are so kind....She had tears in her eyes...Me aswell! I refused the card but she wouldnt have it! Made my day to do a little when I could!

That was so sweet and kind of you.
Sometimes when shopping a senior (single or couple) will catch my eye and it makes my heart ache especially when they seem so vulnerable. I imagine them living on their fixed income trying to eat well and healthy, getting the basics at the store and possibly having to really watch their spending to be able to enjoy maybe a cup of coffee that day and worrying about them hoping they are able to fend for themselves...for example we know about SCOP and the need to really watch the cashiers ring your items in as that is an area the stores can really ripe us of (even if unintentionally) and many might not be aware of that and I feel for those shoppers but especially the elderly.
Sorry for all the rambling. There is no doubt you made that couple's day; they've been able not only to buy their essentials in terms of groceries but were also able to treat themselves to a coffee. You gave them the opportunity to be able to treat themselves when it sounds like they had to actually make a choice of how to spend their funds.

thanks for being so compasionate , that may have been my parents, grandparents or anyones. hard to believe that only a few coupons could cause such a great chain reaction.
by viewing the comments, you have also brought a lot of smiles and happy tears to many sc'ers.
thumbs up

Is it awesome what just a few coupons can do to make someone's day! I mean they really cost us nothing but our time and look what we can do with them. Thanks for sharing - it's nice to know there are still good people out there that care.
