ExpiredI'm wondering how everyone keeps track of their trades, trains, MIR's, emails to companies and websites that you signed up for. I'm somewhat new and starting to have lots of stuff going. I've been writing things down but it's getting a little messy and confusing.

I have a spreadsheet that I use to keep track of trades - and when I mail away for rebates and stuff I just record it on the same spreadsheet.
I don't really keep track of emails to companies or websites I sign up for...

I use a 3 ring binder with dividers. My first section is trades which I subdivide into columns with these headings:
Date (finalized trade or date I mailded my envie out)
User ID (of the person I traded with)
Sent Out (what I sent out in trade)
Get Back (what I am expecting to receive)
Trade Rating (small section to check off when I leave a trade rating)
Sent PM (i check this off after I send a pm to the person I traded with letting them know I got the envie)
I save my messages in my inbox from the trades and when all the above info is completed then I delete from my SC inbox, I also cross off the info on my page.
My second section is for trains with these headings
Conductor's Name
Train name
Train departure date (when it was first mailed out)
I am...(the position is sit in on the train so I know roughly when to expect it)
Special Info ( this like boarding passes, special rules etc.)
Rate Train and Conductor (same as above)
You could do the same type of things for MIR, company calls etc.
remember to pack your envies right away and mail them ASAP
use dollar store baskets or folders to store envies, stamps, pens etc.
I have a large binder with pockets etc to also help keep me organized.
Good Luck

i HAVE EVERYTHING ON A SPREADSHEET ALSO AS SOON AS I GET ACCEPTED ON A TRAIN I ALREADY PREPARE AN ENVIE AND IN THE BOTTOM LEFT I WRITE THE TRAIN NAME WHEN A TRAIN COMES IN I GET OUT THE PREPARED ENVIE (I ALREADY PUT THE BOARDING PASS IN THE ENVIE SO I DON'T GIVE IT AWAY BY MISTAKE LOL)I ALSO LOOK AT THE TRAIN THREAD AND PUT IN THE OTHER RIDERS WISH COUPONS (PAPER CLIPPED WITH A POST-IT SO I KNOW WHO THEY ARE FOR) WHEN MY TRAINS ARRIVE ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TRANSFER ENVIES AND ADD MORE COUPONS AND THEN OUT THE DOOR....
I ALSO STORE THE ADDY'S IN A FOLDER(NOT PUBLICALLY) ON MY CONTACT PAGE SO I CAN LOOK PPL UP TO SEND OUT RAOK'S ALSO FOR JUST INCASE THE TRAIN SHEET SHOULD GET LOST WHILE ON THE TRACKS...HOPE THAT HELPED

I have a spreadsheet for trades and trains only. I don't have much MIR, so I just mark down on my little handbook.

as much of a computer geek that i am...i use a notebook to keep all my trades! i just find it a lot easier for some reason lol..i put down the date..who i am trading with..what i am trading for and what i am giving in return..and the date i send out..as well as when i receive the trade! also..i check off if i have given a trade rating and vice versa! it really helps because a lot of people forget to give trade ratings!
