I would have done the same thing. I'm glad you got the coupons back. I agree with you that if they hadn't given the coupons back that the store would get that $13 and that's not fair.

So if I return a L'oreal lotion that was $19.96 and I used $5 off coupon with it. Will I get $19.96 plus tax back? or only $14.96 plus tax?
The coupon is listed right under the product on my receipt. I know if they do all the coupons at the end, they are listed on the bottom so you can't possibly tell then which coupon goes with which product, but in this case you can I suppose.
wow this is a coincidence. today i went to SDM to buy physicians formula. I had 3 coupons each $3 off. I bought three products. The last one being concelear stick for 4.99 - $3. The lady was very nice helped me nad everything. But then i realised that the shade wasnt right ( i actually wanted to get the mineral powder plus the bonus for 9.99) but they didnt have my shade anywhere. Anyway i went back an hour later to return it, there was a new cashier and she said she would try to give me the coupon back. it didnt go through and she was confused when i asked her to just give me 1.99 (the price after the coupon) and the coupon back because she had it. She tried to enter th code. there were people behind so instead she just gave me 4.99 back. Which sucks because i really want to use that coupon and buy another product.
Anyway i was just wondering, if she gave me the 4.99 +gst, its the same as giving me the coupon and sales price. I didnt lose out did i?
You paid: $4.99 + GST = $5.24 - $3 = $2.24
You got back: $4.99 + GST = $5.24
No, you didn't lose out... and it's actually silly for you to think it sucks that you didn't get your coupon back.
I mean, instead of a $3 coupon for Physicians Formula in your wallet, you now have $3 in cash... or you can look at it as a $3 "coupon" for absolutely ANYTHING. I mean, if you really want to still get the Physicians Formula item, you can still use the $3 cash towards it like it was the original coupon.
That $13 is better in your pocket than theirs!!
Good Job!!!
