Homemade pizza and raw veggies.
We skipped lunch, so we will have an early supper of Chinese takeout.
Pancakes for breakfast, turkey wraps for lunch and Swiss Chalet leftovers for dinner.
What we ended up with:
Always get one combo with veg fried rice, s&s pork, df shrimp, and today it came with skinny noodles.
Df shrimp
Special chop sueySpecial chow mein, fat noodles
Honey garlic pork
Df chicken wings - usually these are most awesome by being crunchy outside dusted with seasoning, juicy inside. Today, ugh - totally overcooked, so dry. Husband so disappointed, they are his fave.
Got free chicken balls with order
So good!
Decided on Portobello Pizzas which have Onions, Pepperoni, Bacon, Mozzarella and Parm on them. We will also have a side Cesar Salad with them.
Lipton noodle soup with extra noodles.
Bonus to our takeout I didn't know until just now. The restaurant included eight coconut buns.
Then I remembered from last year, we ordered New Year's Day from there as well. I had ordered the coconut buns along with everything else, and was told we would be getting them free as a NY gift.
Munching on one now, absolutely scrumptious!
crispy fried chicken and potato wedges from walmart.
went there for groceries and they marked down the hot food: chicken reg. $8 paid $1.99, potato wedges was $4 paid $1. Picked up 2 chicken and 1 potato. At checkout, a lady and her young son asked about my chicken then ran to the deli but they were out. So I gave her 1 of my chicken. They were happy and thanked me. I was happy too.
Its been a fabulous New Years!! New Years Eve was fantastic! Yesterday went to my uncle's house for Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings..there was so much food New Years Eve that I didn't get to serve my meatballs (I used lean ground beef and they didn't shrink as much as I thought they would so they were on the jumbo size, not a cocktail meatball lol) so will use this evening to make a meatball sub..toasted baguette with butter and garlic, topped with the meatballs. a little extra sauce, cheddar cheese and but under the broiler to melt the cheese into the meatballs
Leftover Chinese food tonight.
Nat-your post about Chinese food made me chuckle. There always seems to be so much! Last month we invited my brother and SIL over as we treated for her birthday. We ordered dinner for 4( there were 5 adults) and it was still way more than we could eat and we had plenty of leftovers for 2 people for a couple of meals.
Had a fantastic New Years Eve dinner at Isaiah Tubbs
Lobster, shrimp, salmon, prime rib...

DH wants to " sorta try " going on the Dr. Poon method of eating so he asked me to pick him up a few thick steaks, he'll eat just that and a veg....or that with a salad....no bread, spuds, rice, quinoa or beans.
I give him a week and he'll cave! ha ha He is the CARB monster!
So I am slow cooking him 2 thick blade steaks in the oven right now. My fennel soup that I made this morning is all pureed up now, and my own smaller steaks are pressure cooked nice and soft, that will be my dinner tonight along with some roasted veg.
Tonight I am going to make Mushroom Stew but I am going to make Sheppard Pie style. I will make the Mushroom Stew and top it with Mashed Potatoes and Bake. I am also many homemade Potato Buns to go with it as it has been suggested a few times since the last time I made them that I make more even though the last one was not eaten until yesterday and when it was I was asked again.
I am curious @SassyAshley is there any meat mixed in with the mushrooms or is the stew all shrooms?
Not that there is anything wrong with all shrooms...I love 'em!!
@walkonby no, there is no meat in this dish. I am trying to get a few more vegetarian dishes in our regular dishes as sometimes I feel a little meat out, like right now I do not want to see beef for a bit.
The stew today will be a mix of Portobellos and Button Mushrooms as they are what I have on hand.
I was way to busy at work to have lunch today so i brought that home, way too good to waste. So i guess i am having left overs of my lunch which was left overs from last nights dinner which was back ribs. My wife made crock pot chili today so i will probably indulge in a bowl of that as well
We got 50+cm of snow yesterday, its a glorious, cold, sunny day on the Rock! :-) Last night I cooked a beef roast and made mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, etc in case we went to the cabin today (easy to reheat on the wood stove) but its -20 windchill & still a little blustery so it might be too cold to get the cabin warmed up today and everything done to be able to stay overnight (but definitely tomorrow!!) either way I can reheat the food at home or the cabin
Tonight is Homemade Chicken Nuggets with Homemade Potato Wedges and a side Salad
Tonight I made a scalloped potato and ham casserole. One layer thinly sliced potatoes, topped with onions and a sprinkle of flour with salt & pepper, followed by a layer of diced ham, repeat, and top with a layer of thinly sliced potatoes. Dot liberally with butter. Fill the casserole with milk up to about 1/3 inch of the brim. And bake. I serve it with rolls and sliced cheese on the side.
Takeout schnitzel, spaetzle, sauerkraut.
my guys will be eating lots of chili over the weekend. Made up about a half a roast pan full this morning.
I get so much done between 5 a.m and 8 a.m. Some laundry, pets stuff and even watched 2 recorded shows!
WOB-I am most productive early in the morning too. I am making a pot of lentil soup.
Back bacon on a bun and we still have alot of christmas treats for dessert
I could never be allowed any of this on my diet BUT OMG!!!! Just look at the finished product how pretty and bacony it is! ha ha Those fast videos always make me laugh, if only I could prep that quickly!

Five shrimp, piece of cod, fries.
Guess I had better find a veg for bedtime snack!
Pork fried rice and sweet & sour pork
very interesting experiments today!
I picked up a t-fal Easy Fry XL fryer ( air fryer ) and thanks a lot " you know who " triggering my curiousity about yours!! ( @Lynn49 ) Call it Christmas Envy...ha ha
I sure have had some fun!
The best thing was sliced water chestnuts. Into a round cake pan they went along with my baby bok choy. I did not want the small pieces getting trapped in the insert and they say you can do this )
They tasted JUST like potato chips!! ( the water chestnuts ), also did other veg, my raw bean sprouts and snow peas. Mmmm.
I put totally frozen like a brick perogies in and in 12 min they were done! DS tasted and approved.
It is a very easy item to use and clean, it will be staying at the end of the the long kitchen table for now.
I showed the kids how to use it, they'll be experimenting too I suspect.
