Thinking I am going to do Pasta with Meat Sauce with Cheesy Garlic Naan & Cesar Salad
Looks like rotisserie chicken from Metro with rice and swiss chalet sauce. Nice and easy
Well tonight its Tortiere night! After we made all those Tortieres yesterday, we didnt feel like eating, had just a PB & Jelly sandwich.
Tacos. I opened up the tortilla wraps for the enchiladas now I need to use them up.
The family has options in the fridge. It's homemade chicken soup with bow tie pasta in it, or cold pasta salad with many colourful diced veg and black beans in it or a slice of turkey breast meat with a side dish of broad egg noodles in a white cheese sauce.
The point is I put a small dent in some of my various noodle/pasta packages from the stockpile.
There’s pork leftover from yesterday and ground beef thawing so not sure what I’ll end up making.. not long finished making “cookies” chocolate mice, chocolate/peanut butter marshmallow squares & another batch of Fantastico bars. Crashing from all the sugar, a lot of test tasting!! It’s a tough job but someone has to do it :-) zzzzzz
My made chili to take up north on the weekend so we are going to eat the leftovers tonight
My house smells like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory
Decided on Breakfast for Dinner so we are having Homemade Waffles
braised pork, hard boiled eggs and rice.
i got cooking hard boiled eggs down to how we like the yokes (soft and a bit runny) but the peeling drives me nuts! my eggs do not look nice and smooth. I put eggs straight from the fridge into a pot of tap water (room temp), bring to a boil, then turned to low and time them to my liking. As soon as my timer goes off, i transfer the eggs into a cold ice bath for a few minutes. I gently tab the cooked egg on the counter to crack the shell all over then gently peel the shell. BUT the shell still stick to the egg and the white part would come off with the shell. GRRR.
i googled and watched several vids and going to try some of the tricks out there.
if anyone has a trick they know work all the time i would love to hear. TIA
Tonight we are going to make Homemade Chicken Tenders with Oven Fries and maybe a Ceasar Salad on the side
made spaghetti yesterday so lots of leftovers for today
Take out pizza
SIL arrived today. She brought a mix of appetizers that we're having soon.
DH had leftover chicken soup, I had cold pasta salad. I am now wearing a sweater and he's in his wife beater ( W.B. ) shirt....lol.
( NO, he is NOT a W.B. it's just what we've called those undershirts for years ) .
Our neighbour across the street is making a kolbassa run into Montreal. The name of the store is called Quebec Smoked Meat. He asked if we wanted anything. Yay! Duh! Of course. Getting a ring of Kolbassa, 1 lb Montreal Smoked Meat, 1 lb head cheese, and 1 hard liverwurst. And thats for dinner tonight!
Tibb's Eve pizza!
Hot roast beef on a bun! Simple but yummy!
Got the roast all ready this morning for the oven so DS could toss it in this afternoon :)
Shrimp scampi
Was out doing Porch Drop Offs of gifts so picked up Mary Brown's on the way home as a Treat, this will be the only Take-Out we have this season as we are now hibernating
Our old tradition Christmas supper is baked salted fish, potatoes, homemade molasses raisin bread, cheese, cookies, etc etc and later in the night we have a pork fry! Merry Christmas Eve to everyone!
**turkey is thawing for tomorrow!**
Traditional Ham, scalloped potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts. Possibly homemade buns
Beef Wellington along with mashed potato and a veg.
Got the cabbage rolls in the crock pot, so that for dinner tonight. And since its only hubby and i for lunch tomorrow, instead of turkey, we are having chicken. So that thawing right now.
We are just doing home made munchies tonight as it is just myself and my wife
I picked up my Sauerbraten from my Stepmom yesterday (felt very weird to porch pick-up Christmas Dinner) so I think we will have this tonight now I just need to come up with side dishes. I am thinking Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Parm Butternut Squash.
Well SA I did not actually know what Sauerbraten was-so I looked it up. It looks like a very complicated but yummy recipe-enjoy.
Not turkey as we had that last week. Today's lunch will be homemade burritos followed by ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner. Just the two of us as following public health orders here.
