The soup was very good, hit the spot (although I forgot to buy corn for it). Not a lot of leftovers though, and I'm disappointed I hadn't gotten around to making my own black/red beans from dried in the crockpot, had to use canned.

spent the last two weeks with the in-laws for US thanksgiving. Came back to canada and graved chinese food so we went for some tonight. Also have enough leftovers for 2 lunches.

Our 2yr old son shared a really bad cold with me. He got it from a younger child at daycare whose parents still haven't taken to the doctor after having a cough for 2 weeks. I currently have two different pots of hamburger soup simmering on the stove because dh doesn't really like tomato based soups. I also bought a bag of lemons and have been drinking hot lemon and honey throughout the day. Here's hoping LO sleeps through the night, he has been up 5 out of the last 6 nights.
1st pot: ground beef, onion, celery, carrot, pearl barley, seasonings

I have a turkey breast in the slow cooker (p/u for $6.00) season ,drizzle with butter and cook on high setting for 2 hours and then low for the remaining 5-6+ hours (this will crisp the skin) (I also layer the bottom of the slow cooker with onion) will prob make a clubhouse with it later, and leftovers for lunch sandwiches for the next couple of days.
