Yesterday for supper I ended up using a pack each of ground beef and pork, and made Sarma - the pic is what they are 'supposed' to look like, but I find buying sour cabbage to wrap the meat mixture in is too expensive, so I use sauerkraut instead (don't tell Vee!). Made a big pot, so we'll have the rest of it today for supper.

You mix up a bit more ground pork than beef with salt, pepper, garlic, minced onions, paprika, one egg, and about 1/2 raw white rice.
Make into rolls and balls (normally you would roll them in the sour cabbage leaves like cabbage rolls), put in boiling water, simmer for a while, then add 1/3 big jar of sauerkraut, a can of tomato sauce - overall need to simmer for about an hour and a half.
We had it with fresh bread - and it's SO yummy!
