mmmm. Vegetarian shepherd's pie! First time I've tried this recipe. It was really tasty and my kids didn't believe me when I told them there was no meat in it. hahahahahaha.
I'm glad this one turned out so well; I just hate it when I try a new recipe and it ends up being a dud because I feel like a failure if the whole supper sucks. LOL.
Payday yesterday, so takeout!
I had a Chinese food combo - enough left for lunch today - delish!
Gah, there aren't names for so many of the things I make, I just throw together what's around. In a roaster, diced lean pork, bok choy, mixed frozen veggies, spices, etc.; when done, added a can of cream of mushroom sauce to make a nice gravy. Served over rice, very yummy!
Tonight, chicken pieces roasted with onion, potatoes, carrots - with coleslaw or salad.
Tonight is steak on the bbq and mashed mini potatoes with the skin on and some fresh baby Parmesan and garlic inside.
Oven roasted chicken with mushroom risotto and grilled asparagus!
nada! I like what Alllicia is having so I'm going there.
Lol :D thanks sillyloocie!
Meatloaf, green beans and scalloped potatoes :)
Tonight I'm thinking some cozy, from-scratch Chicken Pot Pies. Will be seeing if DBF prefers a little Shepard's Pie. :) Woo hoo cooking and baking! Also today: chocolate chip cookies, half of which will be made into ice cream sandwiches for treats.
My goodness I wish I had a crock pot. It's on my Christmas/birthday list for sure.
Were we the only ones crazy enough to buy a few of the Prime Rib roasts that Metro has on sale? We did one of them up Sunday and ashamed to say there is just scraps left on the platter after all the sneaky late night " snacking " and the guys took some in there lunches. Lots of homemade gravy left and some mashed, but I'll have to throw a couple Dr Oetker pizza's in just for DD and I. ( sigh, that beef was sooo yummy)
frozen pizza. meh. now i'm thinking kettle bbq chips.
Frozen pizza with fries was last night. My favourite brand is Belafresco. We get the five cheese variety.
Tonight: veggie meatloaf, stewed lentils, McCain harvest splendor, and salad.
The McCain harvest splendor is frozen diced potatoes plus a variety of other stuff - tonight's variety was with carrots. It's quite nice. The whole meal was delicious, if I do say so myself :smartass:
Lasagna, at 10 pm :lolsign:
Last night, pork meatballs with wagon wheel pasta and salad. Husband had leftover chicken and potatoes.
Tonight, Marc Angelo kabobs with leftover pasta in mushroom sauce, and mixed veggies.
left over lasagna courtesy of a very nice neighbour who is a very thoughtful person. thanks Suzie!
(Loocie is feeling out of sorts)

Veggie bolognese...i have no idea if thats how you spell it and am too tired to google, lol
Anyway, plus salad . Got a carrot/zuccini cake out of the freezer and have spiced apples cooking in the crockpot....
Thats it for tonight!
I tried one of those Salmon Pan Sear things. Not bad, but the pan looked quite greasy in the oven near the end. I made fake out tarter sauce ( green relish/mayo) and it really made it taste good. Freshly deep fried new potatoes went with so I shouldn't have fretted about the grease from the fish huh?
Baked salmon, rice, roasted cauliflower, and apple crisp for dessert :-)
i don't like heavy dinner tonight
Tomato veggie noodle soup; coldcuts on buns.
Wow, everyone too busy to post here, I suppose!
Last night, had baked ham, corn, and we tried the new McCain Harvest Splendour potatoes - the three kinds of potatoes one - they were okay, wouldn't buy them again... plus there wasn't really enough for us in the package (husband ate a 1/2 loaf of bread, lol).
Tonight will be Sobey's deli pizzas - yum, they are SO good! :)
Full turkey dinner tonight. I made rolls yesterday and two pies today - one pecan, one apple. There is a method to my madness...will not have to cook for the next several days.
Turkey dinner tonight! YAY! :)
we did the turkey dinner last night....so i had a mini clubhouse sandwich for breakfast
Turkey coma
Sunday was the Thanksgiving meal ( around 3:30 p.m.) We had the 3 main meat dishes
( ham , turkey and the Prime rib roast) there was so much gravy ( from both the turkey and beef ) The dressing was a combo mix of 4 boxes of Stove Top but I added lots of sauteed onion, celery and added dried cranberries and roasted chestnuts.
Plenty of the fall colour veggies ( turban squash, sweet potatoes, corn, carrots) , boy it is very hard to want any dessert, no matter how long you wait after dinner.
Apple caramel crumble pie, and a pumpkin were warmed and left out for whoever dared to. lol
Just finished breakfast, made homemade waffles and put out 5 different fruits in bowls, oh yummy! Maple syrup and whipped topping were used by a couple of us.
( ya , o.k. it was just me)
This is really going to be a lazy day.
