BBQ steak and vegies
Summer herb crusted fish, creamy veggie primavera, and steamed veggies.
Come on over and eat! I made tonnes and just as I was getting ready to serve, I discovered that only 1 out of the 4 of us is hungry tonight. :-~
Tonight we are having bbq shrimp and chicken skewers on the barbie with roasted veggies. Going to serve it over a bed of rice (I'll make the rice in the microwave) Going to have a greek salad with it and I made a big picture of homemade lemonade to wash it all down with :)
Last night I was loathe to turn the oven on, but I finally did for supper - because I wanted baked pork chops with french onion soup mix, baked rice, and mixed veggies. Mixed in all the pork juices into the rice, and it was amazing!
roast chicken with orange stuffing, leftover rice pilaf & salad.
on Saturday after our 7k walk (later in the afternoon) DH and I decided to drive out to Inoa Beach in Richmond and walk the entire jetty. 8K round trip! I was so freakin' baked even though it was overcast we survived on the meal from lunch which was a sirlion steak salad for me (which was GROSS) and a blue cheese burger for DH. We had Powerades after and went to bed ;)
Yesterday we were at the IL's again for a 1 o'clock lunch of Indain curries, rice, my strawberry/poppyseed rolled goat cheese and spicey candied pecan salad. Dessert was homemade tiramisu :P, a SUPER rich chocolate cake and fresh Okanogan cherries and watermelon salad that MIL served in the watermelon that was cut into a basket!
Then a short 4.5k walk later in the evening and bed.
Not sure about tonight....... i'm thinking some bbq chicken breasts of some sort, edamame beans and salad???? We will see.....
Today's lunch: crunchy peanut butter and strawberry spread on a roll, followed by cherries & blueberries. Yogurt optional. I feel like a kid again :excited:
homemade turkey meatballs and mashed taters with a gravy over the meatballs and a green salad
oooh Wendark! PB&J sounds sooooooo good. I'm...well...it doesn't matter how many years old I am, I still LOVE PB&J. If ever get marooned a desert island, the one thing I want with me (after my kids and DH) would be a big fat tub of PB! :P
Supper. Supper. What am I gonna do about supper? <sigh>
It's one of those days when I just don't feel like doing anything about supper. LOL.
I know how you feel ninna - I made a big supper last night, but it's mega-hot today, so I think it's just gonna be garlic sausage, potato salad, and anything else anyone wants out of the fridge.
Hi gals, Yesterday we BBQ'd chicken breasts with a tossed salad - today (its 30 degrees) DH wants a lasagna - so I'm off to sweat it out in the kitchen.
I finally decided on greek style cold pasta salad, bbq chicken, remaining salad and fresh raspberries for dessert :P
lunch- lean meat assorted sandwich with pickle, tomatoe and rainbox pasta.
dessert- butter tart
dinner- tuna salad with avocado.
We are having a dd and grandson over for dinner so tonights meal is going to consist of salt and pepper chicken wings (I make some extra spicy for me, and some not so much for dh, dd and grandson) I'm making a potato salad and sliced raw veggies to go with it.
Be darned if I know....
DFiancé is grilling up some cheap Maple Leaf chicken breasts ($8 - $5 coupon) with Kraft Chicken N Rib sauce ($1/bottle, so probably $0.25 for today). Then I'm making a pasta salad (really more veggies than pasta) to go with it with Catelli Smart Macaroni ($0.50/box so $0.25 for today) with 3 peppers (green, red, orange) for around $3 (Costco) and a cucumber for $1. Sauce will just be some mayo and vingear with spices and sugar, so it doesn't even count (okay I know it does but I already had all that stuff in the fridge) :)
In total, for $7.50 it's enough for two dinners for us since we only eat half a chicken breast at a time and that'll be a big pasta salad. So less than $2/serving is pretty good when chicken is involved. Even if we did eat the entire breast that'd still be about $2.50/serving of dinner with boneless skinless Maple Leaf chicken, and loads of pasta salad left over! And if I had scrimped a bit on the peppers, which I didn't want to, it could have been cheaper yet.
Wow, lots of posts of great food!
I finally got around to making lasagna on Saturday. Thanks everyone for the tips :) It turned out really delicious. Tonight I'm making bbq steak and salad in an attempt to keep the stove turned off since we finally got some hot weather here :sunny:
I am copying BC Gal and |I am going to BBQ steak or maybe I could just drive up the hwy and crash her dinner lol
