just eat bread and yogurt :bawling:
last night was veggie chicken strips with terriyaki sauce; rice, lentils, corn on the cob, peas. Thought I made enough for leftovers today so I wouldn't have to cook again, but apparently, it was very good
We are having crispy salmon and sweet potato cakes. I've never made these before so my family gets to be guinea pigs in my latest healthy eating experiment. hehe. I will make something they totally love to go along with it....just in case the salmon cakes are a total flop. They can't seem to handle more than 1 new food at a time (and, well, my pride can't handle it either when too many new things are a flop at one meal).
I finally got around to making a edamame salad today so I'll have that for dinner plus the leftover couscous salad from yesterday:)
Yesterday I made homemade gnocchi with a gorgonzola dolce sauce. The cheese sure was stinky, but tasted great! I also made a salad with veggies from the garden, and a homemade loaf of french bread. It sure was a busy day!
Chicken on a stick with Greek salad and Greek rice:)
steak(BBQ), potatoes, carrots & salad
Dal soup and veggie wraps
tonight i made turkey meatballs in sweet and sour sauce, mashed potatoes and broccoli. the girls shared a mini ice cream sandwich for dessert.
steak and cheese at subway at 9:30 pm.
was heading out to Costco and was rear-ended, soooo, late dinner here.
domino pizzas 'cause we don't know what to fix for dinner :D
steak and kidney pie, new pots , broccoli and carrots.
Chicken noodle soup (packaged), Christmas morning (LOL!) wifesaver casserole.
We made fettuccine with a chicken sauce. The sauce was made with chicken breasts, fresh chopped mushrooms, peas, Kraft cooking creme, cream of mushroom soup, with garlic powder and onion powder. It was really good!
Baked chicken with Parmesan cheese coating and really good fries from a chip stand. Tomorrow we're having peaches and cream corn omg cannot wait!
Gf pizza, salad and wings for those who like them:)
vietnamese subs- not going to do hot chilies anymore...... way too hot and spicy!!!
dinner will be left over Chinese and will stir-fry fresh greens to go with it.
Those fresh spring roll wraps thingys I made. Circular rice paper, softened in warm water, filled with vermicelli, fine grated carrot, fresh sprigs of mint leaves, sliced strawberries, then rolled up snug halfway, added 3-4 cooked shrimp along the last space ( so they show from the outside) then flap sides over before rolling all the way up!
Dipping sauce was natural peanut butter blended with VH Sweet Thai Chilli sauce and rice vinegar. Why do they disappear so fast? I eat them cold.
I understand completely Walkonby. I can't make enough of them, I am rolling forever! One of my favourite things to eat.
We made pasta salad with peppers, tomato, cukes, and a bit of caesar dressing with BBQ chicken, and ONE sausage between us (soooo delish but in moderation).
Nina, it's a lifesaver sometimes, truly! I had bread to use up quickly.

------------------------------
Make the day before, or at least six hours before baking.
Line a 9x13 pan with bread (I leave crusts on because they are yummy!). Recipe says 16 slices total.
Lay over this sliced ham, then slices of cheese (can be real cheese, cheese slices or dollops of Cheez Whiz)
Cover with slices of bread.
Whisk together in a bowl -
6 eggs
3 cups milk
add shakes of salt and pepper; 1/2 tsp dry mustard OR 1 Tbsp prepared mustard; 1 tsp. worst. sauce
- can add minced onion, green pepper, etc.
Pour mixture over bread in pan, squoosh edges in so everything is soaked and cover, put in fridge.
When ready to bake, melt 1/2 cup margarine and have ready about 1 cup crushed Cornflakes.
Spread some margarine on top of the bread, sprinkle Cornflakes evenly over top, drizzle the rest of the margarine on top. (I sprinkle on a bit of garlic powder and a light dusting of chili powder)
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit 10 minutes before cutting.
Oh, for supper - I'm home alone, so I had a tv dinner, lol!
chicken ceasar salad wraps and vegetable soup for tonight

Wouldn't be Christmas or Easter without this recipe!!! A family tradition.Be warned that it puffs up quite high in the oven so don't freak out when you make it!
