Steak! Marinated in Worcestershire sauce, garlic and black pepper. Cooked in a pan and salted.
Served with caramelized onions, garlic roasted asparagus w/ almonds and garlic bread!
...we love garlic over here. :-)
Last night I cooked with ground chicken for the first time. To do a true taste test, I made meatballs the exact same way I would do them with either ground pork or beef. They were pretty good, but it sounds funny to say - they were too lean. They didn't even soften in the gravy later.
Anyway, they were yummy - served them over smashed potatoes, with corn.
Tonight is a mystery yet, because the pork tenderloin taken out from the freezer turned out to be dated May of 2008! Yay, we got to the bottom of the freezer. Oy, it's a waste, but it's going in the garbage....
Nat, if you soak some breadcrumbs in milk (I like to use day old french bread that I grind in the foodprocessor), then squeeze out the liquid and add them to the ground chicken (or turkey), it helps with the moisture. You don't need a ton of them, just a handful per pound. I too find that ground chicken can be dry. When adding the soaked breadcrumbs, you can add tons of herbs to the bread before you add it!
Last night I ended up making a roasted chicken dinner with all the fixins. Today I'm going to make a nice chicken stock and pop it in the freezer for later use.
Tonights dinner will consist of....hmmm....I feel taco's would be good, tons of fresh veggies and a great greek salad. Yes, thats it, it's settled...taco's it is!
we had some of the homemade chicken & rice soup last night and the girls and myself made some flatbread pizzas with mushrooms, peppers, deli ham, summer sausage and some cheese.
tonight it's sheppards pie with some broccoli, rice & veggie stir fry for myseslf
garlic and onion with mushroom 'saute', fresh green beans added, plus left over boiled chicken cut into slices then put over rice. it smells SO good.
I will be roasting some cherry tomatoes and some fresh garlic and adding them and some Boursin cream cheese to penne pasta :P Man I love that cheese :P
Was going to be pasta...but then I accidently made homemade ice cream...with crushed oreos in it...with crushed smarties sprinkled on top...I feel a bit...unwell  .
Bubble and squeak!!!!
wings, fries and rings...all homemade
Beef rouladen, beef sauce, mashed potatoes, beans and home made applesauce...and peaches (from our peach tree!) for dessert...
Tonight was leftover pizza topping ingredients turned into an omelet with a crusty roll on the side.
Last night turned into Whopper Wednesday - and here's good news about BK, both whoppers and fries taste just fine when cooled off, lol! After buying the meal, son locked himself out of the van, so husband had to go take him tools to get in. Yeah, I suppose we could have heated them, but we were hungry, and frankly they were just fine...
Tonight is porkchops done in slow cooker with onions, celery, carrots and potatoes. Have to decide on the sauce and seasonings yet.
Last night, we decided to head off the the Hard Rock Casino here. they had an amazing buffet, and lets just say I probably still have butter dripping off my chin from all the crab legs I ate
Tonight I'm making a chicken kiev, had some chicken breasts I cut off a whole chicken before I roasted it for dinner one night. I know that sounds weird, but with only 2 of us, I feel like roasting an entire chicken can sometimes be a waste, but I love the flavor so often I will save the breasts for anothr meal, that way I can get 4 or 5 meals out of 1 roasted chicken. I get the roasted chicken dinner, the breasts for another meal, a nice soup, usually a nice casserole of some sort and sometimes, depending on the size of the chicken even some sandwhiches!
So my kiev will have asparagus and jalepeno jack cheese in it....yummmm. I thinks I will serve it with some au gratin potato (made with same cheese) and a pearl onion and pea side.
i was going to BBQ some sausages and have those with some veggies and a sidekicks noodle, but i have a daycare child tonight until 8:30 and she's a fussy eater so it's gonna be grilled cheese (using a cookie cutter make some butterflies and flowers) and soup for the kids, BLTs and soup for dh and I
I wish it could be left over night but I have no more left overs to eat :(. I think I may just let them make what ever they want:)
It is snowing like crazy here so staying home and cooking. Tonight will be choice of baked chicken breast or pork chop, perogies, bean salad and fruit cobbler for dessert.
Tonight hot dogs because I didn't feel like cooking much since I had a 2 hour long group job interview.
Hope you get the job cabmonk!
I made steaks[black Angus from Walmart that were not on recall list]mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, gravy and onions.
